Once Again: hua cheng x fem reader

We returned back to the cabin.

"I'm gonna go clean up and prepare supper" i suggested

"I'll help" a'cheng replied

We finished eating supper and got ready for bed

"Sorry, there's only one bed so we're going to have to deal with it"

My body was facing away from hua cheng and there was a comfortable silence.

Then I remembered something.

I turned around and faced hua cheng

"A'cheng, if you're roaming around so carelessly, then this must be a disguise, right?"

I pointed at his face

"Can i see your true form?"

A'cheng hesitantly looked away and his confidence starts to fade away. But he masks this insecurity by making a joke.

"What if i turn out not the way you think i would look like? What if I'm really ugly"

I frowned but then giggled.

"That doesn't matter to me because you're still my a'cheng."

Hua cheng's face softened upon hearing those words.

Suddenly, an absurd idea popped into his head.

"Hey, y/n. Do you want to get married?"

A/n: Marriage was normal in the ancient times. As long as the couple had mutual feelings for one another, they got married very early. Sometimes, after meeting each other

My eyes widened upon hearing a'cheng's suggestion as tears threatened to fall.

"Yes! Of course!"

He hugged me tightly and kissed me on the forehead.

"I'll try my best to find a wedding ring for you quickly" he tells me

"Don't bother, the ring of your ashes that you gave me is already enough" i retorted

"That's not fair to you though" he said and pouted

I kissed him, pout still on his face.

His face turned slightly pink and his ears bright red.

"Let's go to bed, mm?"

He nods and we both doze off.

The next morning:

I wake up to a empty bed beside me, realizing that a'cheng wasn't there

I rubbed my eyes and got out of bed in search of him

'Ah, i should go refresh up. I just woke up and i probably look hideous'

After i refreshed up, i walked around in search of a'cheng

He was outside, raking the leaves to prevent from piling up.

He turned around and i was stunned

Standing there was hua cheng, in his true form. A crimson bead adorned his braid and he wore an eyepatch.

'Is that his true form?'

He walked over and kissed me on the cheek

"Good morning, how are you so beautiful when you just woke up?"

My face heated up

"Aish, stop being so corny"

He chuckled

"You look so handsome in your true form. You told me yesterday saying what if you were ugly"

I caressed his face and he put his arms around my waist, flustered.

"Haha, payback!" I teased him by poking his cheeks and joked about his flustered face.

"Get over here!" A'cheng said as he started chasing me around the front yard.

I laughed as i ran from him.

Finally, he caught up to me, grabbed me and spun me around

We were both out of breath from the exercise and laughter.

"Let's go grocery shopping, we haven't had breakfast yet and there's no more ingredients"

I grabbed the basket and took a'cheng's hand as we walked to the village.

I walked from stall to stall, looking for some bargains while hua cheng followed me mindlessly, hand in my hand.

"why can't we just buy vegetables at that stall"

he pointed at one of the food stall

"Look at that salesman, he's fooling around, which shows that he isn't serious with his work or that the vegetables aren't good."

"What about that one?"

A'cheng pointed at another food stall

We walked over

"Buy some vegetables! Fresh and cheap!" The salesman announced

"This one looks good, it even has water dew on it" a'cheng says as he reaches for a carrot.

I gently slap his hand

"Aiya, no, this stall isn't good either. It's so early in the morning, where did the water dew come from?"

"Oh"

We continued walking around when i found the perfect food stall

"This food stall is the ideal perfect food stall. Look at the vegetables, they look fresh and neat. The price isn't too expensive either"

I grabbed the vegetables we needed and handed it to the salesman.

"Your total is $25.64"

Hua cheng was about to hand them the money when i stopped him.

"This is my time to shine, bargaining is my expertise" i tell a'cheng

"Can you be a good person and give me a discount? Say $12.90?" I bargained

"That's way too cheap, how am i suppose to make business?" The salesman retorted

"Nevermind then, I don't want it anymore"

I took a'cheng's hand and walked off while he looked at me curiously

"3...2...1.." i whispered to him

The salesman suddenly pulls us back

"Ok ok fine, $12.90 it is"

"And that's how you bargain" i winked

Suddenly, the clouds got darker out of nowhere and a portal opened up behind us.

A hand dragged me into the portal

The basket filled with groceries fell on the floor as hua cheng yelled

"Y/n!"
