June opened the window and took a DEEEEEP breath. It was so nice outside, but only if she had a friend to play with. She sighed and then shut the window.
"JUUUNE, GET DOWN HERE NOW!" Miss Nora shouted.
"Yes ma'am!" June got her maid outfit and put it on. She ran downstairs and waited for miss Nora to come out of the kitchen. She came out and looked at June. She frowned and said.
" I see you cleaned your outfit. Without permission I suppose?"
"Oh, Yes I'm very sorry Nor- I mean Ma'am. It's just...It was so dirty."
"Dirty or not I don't want you doing that again!" Miss Nora SLAPPED her face and stomped away. June walked to the living room and started to mop the floor. She looked up and saw Miss Nora watching her. She turned around and walked to the phone. June watched as Miss Nora called someone and then look at her. June knew what this meant. She was going to sell her...Again. She didn't want to be sold to someone else. She heard yelling coming from the phone. She knew she couldn't go there. She didn't know what they would do to her. When she hears yelling she hears beating. June thought of a plan to get out. At night she will sneak out and run away! She got all the mopping done and ran upstairs to get packed. When it was night time June opened the window and climbed down. She could finally feel the fresh air. But when she jumped down she made a loud THUD! Miss Nora jerked up and looked out her window. She saw June running into the field.
"JUNE! JUNE! GET BACK HERE! JUUUUUUNE!" Miss Nora shouted while putting on her slippers. June didn't answer and kept running. She ran all the way to the road and stopped to get some rest. Now she was all alone.
"Oh, where do I go? I could try the hotel, but I got no money. Mmmmm." June walked across the road and looked for somewhere to stay. She saw a school nearby and decided to stay there for the night. She walked over thinking of what it's like to have a friend.
" It must be wonderful to have a friend. Maybe if I make my own! Like an imaginary friend" She looked around and then thought what her friend would be like.
"I would have a friend that likes...DOGS! And I will have that friend's name be...ZOE!" She waited and waited. Finally, Zoe appeared! June clapped her hands with excitement. She finally had a friend!
" Hello! My name is June."
"Oh, Hello my name is Zoe. Um...where am I?"
"Oh, your at a school! Your suppose to be my imaginary friend!"
"Oh, well in that cause. Come on! Let's go have some fun! No one will see!"
"What kind of fun?"
"FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!" Zoe looked at June and smiled. She grabbed her arm and ran down the hallway. She let go and started to dance. June watched and joined in.
"Hahahahaha! This is fun!"
" I know right?" Zoe stopped dancing and looked out the window. June stopped and looked confused.
"Is everything ok?"
"HUH, Oh yes...I was just...Looking outside." June look at her suspiciously and continued to dance. Zoe watched June dance and said.
"Let's go get some food! I'm starving!"
"OK!" June stopped dancing and ran to the food place. When they got in the kitchen area they saw...SLOP! EW! June looked at it and shivered. She turned around to say something to Zoe, but she wasn't there. Hmmm, where could she have gone? She turned around and saw Zoe EATING IT!
"EWWWWWWWWWWWWW! ZOE THAT'S NASTY!"
"MMmmMMMMmmMMM whatever. MMmmMMMMMMMMmMMMMmm YUM! This is really good! Try some." She scooped up a hand full and handed it to June.
"Uhhhh, Thanks but no thanks."
"Your loss." Zoe turned around and continued to eat. June walked over to a window and looked out. She wondered what Miss Nora was doing right now. She turned around and saw that Zoe was gone again. She looked around the room but she wasn't there this time.
"Zoe? Zoe?" June walked to the exit but didn't see her. She opened the door and looked outside.
"ZOEEEEEEEE!" But then someone grabbed her and said.
"Shhhhhh..."
