''NALA! GRAB MY PAW! YOU MIGHT FALL!''
''I CAN'T REACH YOU BUTTON!''
Oh...Hi, my name is Button. You probably don't know what's going on. So I might as well start this story from the beginning. One day me and my mom were out in my owner's backyard. We were chasing each other around the yard. When a bird with sopping wet droopy wings fell down from a tree. My mother...Let's just call her by her real name. Nala! Anyway...Nala saw the bird first and she is a hunting dog. Because she has it in her blood. She ZOOMED towards the wet bird and started to do the loudest bark I've ever heard her do. I ran after her trying to stop her to make sure she doesn't stomp the bird to death.
''MOM! STOOP!'' I reached my paw out to grab her small tail. Nala stopped in her tracks and looked at me.
''What is it, honey?''
''PLEASE! LET ME TELL YOU A STORY!''
''We'll make it quick I have to get this bird to bring it back to my owner. So chop chop!'' I sat down and took a deep breath.
''One day when I was just a little pup. I saw our owners jumping on the trampoline. They were having a blast! I wished I could jump with them but the MORE high owners say no. I was just sitting there when I saw a little bird moving toward the trampoline net. I tried to warn the poor little thing but it kept flying on. It didn't see the net so it flew right into it. Its little tiny wing got caught in the net and my owners were too scared to help it so they ran away. It was up to me to help the poor little thing. I ran toward the bird and started jumping up to see if I could grab it in my mouth. I was too little so I had to think of another plan. I saw the box-out owners step on to get in and out of the trampoline. To make it easier on them. I pushed the black box under the little bird and jumped on top of it. The little baby bird was terrified. She must have thought I was trying to eat her or something. I stood up on my two paws and grabbed the little bird in my mouth. I pulled the little bird's wing out of the net. I got down and placed the little bird gently on the ground. The little bird breathed hard but when it realized I wasn't going to eat it. It stood up with little shaky legs. The bird looked at me and tweaked the cutest tweak I have EVER heard. I sat down and pushed the little bird gently with my snout. The little bird hopped on its way and then started to fly. To me it was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen.'' Nala sat down with her head low.
''So you see Nala...Don't chase the little bird.''
''Well, I guess you're right. But can I still pretend I caught it to bring to our owners?''
''NO! Nala!.'' I frowned.
''I forgive you!'' I hugged Nala and we both watched the bird fly away. Nala smiled as it flew toward the sunset. I think she was proud she didn't harm the little bird. Nala and I walked toward the front yard to find our owners. But just as we turned the corner. It all went dark. I opened my eyes and saw a light. Now I know that in most of the books or movies it says not to look at the light. But I did anyway. I looked around the room and saw...the dreadful animal...CATS! I saw a cat toy dangling in front of me. Maybe they were trying to see if I was a dog or a cat. I didn't scratch out my paw to get the toy so they knew I was a dog. The cat's fur was straighter than a line and their backs were almost up to the moon! The cats all made an enormous hissing sound. I heard a barking noise from beside me. Could it be?
''NALA!?!! IS THAT YOU?!?'' A familiar voice answered back.
''YES! It's me! Is that you? Button?''
''Yes! I'm so glad you're here too. Where are we?'' I looked around and all I saw were cats. They were everywhere! I tried to wiggle my way out but I was too tied up. Then I heard a whistle and all the cats settled down. What was going on? Was this the end? No...It can't be. A cloud of fog covered my vision. When the fog was gone I saw two peacocks walking side by side. Then after them, I saw strong-looking cats lined up. They all moved in a way that there was a path to walk through in the middle. Then a HUGE chair that was backward came forward. It spun around and a BEAUTIFUL white cat and grey cat sat on it. A huge cat had a crown in his hands. He put it on the white and grey cat and bowed down. Who was this? The queen of cats? The white and grey cat clapped her paws together and the other cats that were holding her chair upset it down. The white and bl- You know what...Let's just call her the queen (for now.) The queen got up and walked towards me and Nala. She looked at us closely and then walked back to her throne.
''Unbuckle these dogs so we can put them in our dungeon.'' I looked at Nala and whispered.
''Get ready to run towards that hole in the wall.'' Nala looked for the hole and then nodded. The cats untied us and we took off!
''GET THEM, GUARDS!'' The queen hissed. Nala and I jumped over cats and headed for the hole. We jumped in and ran so fast it felt like we were flying.
''HEY LOOK NALA! There's light!''
''Last time we saw light it was no good.''
''This time I'm sure it's good! Be Careful Nala. This looks like a waterfall.'' Nala jumped over me and slid off the edge of a rock.
''NALA! ARE YOU OK!?!'' I looked over the edge and saw Nala holding onto a little rock.
''NALA GRAB MY PAW! YOU MIGHT FALL!''
''I CAN'T REACH YOU BUTTON!'' I took a deep breath and then started down the side of the waterfall. I reached my paw toward Nala. She grabbed me by nail to nail. I grabbed her paw and started to pull her up. Until I heard the sound of cats running and hissing. I looked down at Nala. Under her was a lake.
''NALA! Where going to jump! Take a deep breath and trust me!'' I took a deep breath and let go of the rock. I held on to Nala's paw tightly. Then there was a huge SPLASH! I put my head over the water and doggy paddle beside Nala to the shore. When we got to land I flopped down on the ground.
''FINALLY! Laaaand...''
''What about the cats?'' I looked up and saw hundreds of cats trying to get down the waterfall without getting wet. The queen looked at me and hissed. How to mean!
''How could such animals take us out of our own yard and then bring us to some cave! I mean...Were not doing anything to you! Were just walking in ou-''
''It's fine Button. Let's just head for home.''
''But where is home?'' Nala and I looked around. We were in the middle of a forest. How were we supposed to find our way back? Just then Nala started to sniff the ground.
''We can sniff our way back Button! Were dogs!''
''Your right Nala! But can you carry me?'' Nala looked at me and frowned.
''Fiiine...''
''THANK YOU!'' Nala put me on her back and started to sniff. She will be able to find her way. I mean she is my mother.
'2 hours later
''It's been two HOURS Nala! Are we there yet?''
''No Button. But we won't get there anytime soon if you don't get off my back.''
''Look...'' I got off Nala's back and sighed. I really didn't want to walk. But it was kinda fair since Nala has been caring for me for two hours and she must be tired by now. We walked a little further when we saw a familiar face.
''OWNER!'' Nala and I ran as fast as we could towards our house. Finally, we were back home...
Button: And that is the end of the story. Thank you for tagging along and listening to me tell you it.
