NORMAL POV

HAYDEN HAD BEEN practising with the band all day, that had an odd visit from none other than Willie, who Alex had a short conversation with. But he wouldn't tell anyone what it was about, either way, he was not in a good mood and it was obvious by the way he was playing the drums.

The three other band mates stopped playing as Alex became more violent with the drums, but upon realising they had stopped, Alex calmed down and looked at his friends.

"Alex, you alright?" Luke asked.

"Yeah." He nodded in response. "Yeah, yeah, why?"

Reggie sighed softly. "I know its tough, man. People say you never forget your first ghost-"

"Reggie, we talked about this." Hayden mumbled but Reggie just ignored her.

"Maybe it's true. But...I'm sure there will be others."

Alex nodded. "Yeah. Thanks, Reg."

Luke nodded too. "Yeah, and Alex, you're a great drummer and a great guy, okay? I wouldn't let all that stuff get in between you and what you love."

Reggie shrugged. "I don't know, man. Sometimes a little fire can make things better on stage. Like Hayden and Julie."

Hayden shook her head, trying to ignore the heat rushing to her face. "What's that supposed to mean?"

The bassist let out a chuckle. "Come on. Everyone can see the way you look at her when you sing. You guys ooze chemistry."

"You should never say ooze again, but, yeah, Luke and I agree." Alex said with a smile.

"Okay, no." The girl took off her guitar and placed it down. "I have chemistry with everyone that I sing with." She noticed the look on her band mates faces. "Seriously! Watch."

Alex and Reggie watched as Hayden went up to Luke, who froze at the sudden action, and began to sing.

"I believe, I believe that we're just one dream. Away from who we're meant to be, that we're standing on the edge of..." She grabbed her friends neck, pulling his face closer to hers, by this point Luke was bright red. "...great."

Alex chuckled softly. "Wow. I see chemistry."

Hayden giggles and pressed a kiss to Luke's cheek, backing away from him as he stuttered. "That was pretty hot. Julie is so lucky."

"Hey." Hayden pointed at him. "We're not together. Even if we were, we can't touch."

Reggie nodded and cleared his throat. "Girls. Am I right?"

Luke nodded in agreement. "Yeah."

Hayden and Alex glanced at each other. "No." The replied, simultaneously.

They practised all night, more when Julie arrived home but she was acting odd towards Hayden and no one knew why. Hayden passed it off as nerves for tonight's performance, where she hoped Julie would be back to her old self. Julie had also, quite quickly, spoken about listening to Hayden's improved song another day instead of that night. That hurt Hayden but once again she passed it off, believing it had something to do about that nights performance.

Hayden watched from the side as Julie stepped out to the piano after Flynn announced their band. If Hayden was alive, she would hope to still be in Flynn's life because that girl was awesome.

"Thanks for coming, everyone."

Julie began almost instantly. "Running from the past
Tripping on the now
What is lost can be found, it's obvious
And like a rubber ball
We come bouncing back
We all got a second act, inside of us."

The band appeared on beat and began to play, Julie stood from the piano and began to dance with Reggie. "I believe
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of
Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own."

Hayden noticed how Julie seemed to completely miss her out when she danced with the band, she even did it with Alex which is something not normally done as it puts her back to the audience.

"'Cause we're standing on the edge of great
(On the edge of great) Great
(On the edge of great) Great
(On the edge of great)
'Cause we're standing on the edge of great."

Hayden began to wing into the mic. "We all make mistakes
But they're just stepping stones
To take us where we wanna go
It's never straight, no." Hayden motioned the girl over but she turned away.

"Sometimes we gotta lean
Lean on someone else
To get a little help
Until we find our way." The two harmonised.
"I believe
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of
Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own."

"'Cause we're standing on the edge of great
(On the edge of great) Great
(On the edge of great) Great
(On the edge of great)
'Cause we're standing on the edge of..."

Julie climbed on top of her piano and swung her feet over the edge. "Shout, shout
C'mon and let it out, out
Don't gotta hide it
Let your colours blind their eyes
Be who you are no compromise
Just shout, shout
C'mon and let it out, out." The band stopped for Julie's solo.

"What doesn't kill you makes you feel alive
Ooh-oh." Hayden walked towards the girl on the piano, adding a riff that they hadn't practised just to get her attention, it worked.
"I believe
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of great."

Hayden went back to her mic with a smile, she finally had some attention from Julie. "Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own.
'Cause we're standing on the edge of great
(On the edge of great) On the edge of great
(Great, on the edge of great) On the edge
(Great, on the edge of great)
'Cause we're standing on the edge of..."

The rest of the band disapeared but Hayden didn't as she sat beside Julie at the piano and sang into her mic with her, once again gaining the girls full attention.

"Running from the past
Tripping on the now
What is lost can be found, it's obvious."

Julie smiled and leaned towards Hayden but the girl poofed away at that exsact moment. Hayden appeared beside her male bandmates and Luke quickly wrapped his arm around the girls shoulder.

"Hey, nice riff."

Hayden gave him a small smile and leaned into his touch. "Thanks Luke."
