His Military Wife - Jimin X Reader

The Announcement

Y/N POV

Jimin and you have been married for a couple of years. You got married during their comeback for Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Married life had been great, you've been married for almost 5 years. You were at your apartment waiting for Jimin to come home from the BigHit building. He had been there all day dancing and working on music. You spent your day working on some final details for your boss. You were a computer scientist (yes, a little nerdy, but Jimin loved that about you) and you were trying to finish up your last piece of code for the day when the door opened revealing your exhausted husband.

"Hello"

"Hi"

He walked over and collapsed on the couch placing his head in your lap where your computer had been.

"How was your day?"

"New choreography"

"How's that coming?"

"Exhausting. I forget every time how much of a perfectionist Hobi is."

"Do you want something to eat?"

Laughing at his comment, your fingers rubbing through his hair, his eyes looking at you with love and exhaustion.

"Too tired, just want cuddles and kisses"

His hand snaking up to the back of your neck. You laugh and lean down; his soft lips immediately began moving against yours. You smile into the kiss as he sits up on the couch, pulling you onto his lap, your legs straddling either side of him.

"What happened to being tired?"

"I'm never too tired for this."

You laugh and then kiss his lips softly.

"Stop teasing."
"Never."

He grabbed you under the thighs lifting you up, you squeal in response as he carries you to your room.

"That never gets old."

You laugh in response, your head resting against his bare chest and breathing deeply, his hand softly grazing your arm as you both lay there.

"I need to tell you something."

"What is it?"

You tilt your head up to look at him, looking into his eyes, which were now serious.

"My date for my military service has been set."

What?!

"When?"

He takes a deep breath, pulling you into his arms tighter.

"Two months from now."

Your breath hitches and it takes everything within you to not cry. You pull your gaze away from him the tears stinging in your eyes. You try taking deep breaths, but your body shakes every time you take in a breath.

"Don't worry. The boys will take care of you while I'm gone... Well besides Taehyung because he will be with me."

You want to look at him, but you can't look at him without bursting into tears and so you nod your head in response.

"I'll only be gone for 18 months and then I'll be back."

You try not to think about him not being around 18 months. You already hated it when he went on tour for 6 months, because it always felt too long. Yes, you got to visit him, but it was never enough. It was enough to make you feel selfish, but he was your husband, so you had a right to selfish over him, right? But you wanted to be a supportive wife, so you never said anything about it and just kept everything about it to yourself.

You feel his fingers come under your chin and pulls you to look him in the eyes. His brown eyes staring into you. The tears are coming faster and so you blink for them to go away, trying not to cry in front of him.

"Hey, it's going to be okay. I'll be able to talk to you once a week. We'll be able to facetime and see each other that way, just like how when I'm on tour."

Jimin whispers trying to calm you as he wipes one of the tears off from your cheek that had escaped from you.

It was a couple of weeks later that BigHit was going to announce to ARMYS that both Jimin and Taehyung were going to be leaving for their military service in a couple of months. Jimin and Taehyung were beyond nervous about ARMYS' reaction. It was always a mixed emotional reaction. Jin and Yoongi had already done their military service while Namjoon and Hoseok were 8 months away from finishing their military service.

Originally their plan was to go all together, but when they were about to do it, Jin found out his wife was pregnant, and he didn't want to leave her without the support and so they decided to do it in groups. Jin went first and then a year later was Yoongi, and so on so forth. It allowed Jin to feel more relaxed about leaving his wife if she was being looked over by the BTS members.
