Jimin POV

It seemed like hours, waiting for their arrival back. His son rested peacefully in his arm, unaware of the swirling thoughts of his father's mind.

"Mr. Park?"

Jimin lifted his head to see his wife's nurse standing before him.

"Are they alright?"

"It would be best if we wait for the doctor," her voice quivering.

His heart felt like it had been shoved up his throat. Every possible scenario went flying through his head.

She's gone? I c-can't do this alone. She's my world. I can't live without my world.

His son's delicate features were similar to his, but he had his mother's lips. Soft and small.

"Mr. Park?"

He looked up to see the doctor standing in front of him, his arms behind him.

"Will you follow me? Nurse Cho, will you please take the child to the nursery for the time being?"

"Certainly, doctor."

Jimin stood, carefully handing his son to the nurse, before following the doctor with lead in his footsteps. The doctor lead him to a small room, with only a few chairs facing each other.

"Please have a seat."

"I can't. I need the truth now, or I'm afraid I'll lose my mind."

There were some complications.

"Is Y/N..."

"Your wife is in the recovery wing, but the child..."

"She's alive!"

"Yes, but she's weak. From your uniform, I'll find it safe to assume that you are still fulfilling your military duty, correct?"

"Yes, I've only completed a few months. I have a long way to go."

"You're wife is going to need your support."

"What about my other son?"

"Your child didn't make it. There were too many d-cells in her bloodstream when we got them into the operating room. We did everything we could, but she didn't make it."

"She?"

"Yes, the ultrasound had a misreading. Your twins weren't both boys. You had a son and a daughter."

"I-I, had a daughter?"

"Yes, I'm very sorry for your loss. We kept her if you and your wife want to see her?"

"I would like to see my wife first."

"Absolutely. Nurse Cho will take you to her shortly."
