I woke up from my nap.
"Hey pretty thing!" Max said as he went in for a kiss, I kissed him back.
"How long have I been asleep?" I asked. Max looked at his phone for the time.
"About an hour, the doctor should be here soon." Max answered.
"Ok that's good I guess." I said.
"Is there something on your mind Gabby?"
"Yeah there is, I'm just a little nervous about what the doctor is going to say about me." I said looking at Max with a worrying look.
"Naw it's ok I'm sure everything will be okay." Max said.
"Alright if you say so." I said.
Dr.Hew walked in.
"Can I please see you for a minute Max?" The doctor asked.
"Um, yeah sure." Max said as he got up from the chair and walked to the doctor.
I was so nervous I don't know why. I have a feeling it's something more than a small cold.
I could slightly hear what they were saying but I don't know who was saying what.
"Would you like to tell her?"
"Is it ok if you do? I don't think I could handle it."
"Ok sure."
"I'll wait out here."
"Sure. I understand."
The doctor walked in.
"Gabby. We have been doing a few tests and I'm sorry to say you have lung cancer." Dr. Hew said with her head down low.
"What! Are you sure!!!" I yelled, my eyes were filling up with tears.
"Yes. That's why I wanted a second blood test just to make sure the first one was correct and both of them had the same result. I'm so sorry I have to give you this news. But you only have a year to live... I'm so, so sorry."
I started to ball my eyes out. I can't believe any of this, I thought I had my whole live ahead of me but now this.
"It's in the middle stages so we can do a few treatments but you have to walk around with an oxygen tank no matter what we do at this stage."
"Alright I understand." I'm still crying my eyes out.
"I'll tell Max to come back in and I'll let you make a choice together." Dr.Hew said as she walked out of the room.
Max came running in and he gave me a huge hug as we both laid on the hospital bed. We both started balling our eyes out as we were in each others arms.
"Gabby I love you no matter what and I'm never going to leave your side. We are going to get through this together." Max whispered in my ear.
"I love you Max." I said crying ever harder.
