Jules POV
I catch up with Hailey as all the houses make their way to their dorms, unexpectedly jumping up from behind her and wrapping my arms around her in a hug.
"Hailey!"
"Agh!" She flinches, startled from the person hanging onto her, hearing my voice and immediately smiling, looking back at me and hugging me, "Jules! I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too! We haven't gotten the chance to talk today- my brother didn't really let me- sorry."
"No no, believe me, same here. I wish they could just get along ya know? It'll make life so much simpler," She sighs, saying the common room password.
"Right?" I let out a huff and enter, "And on top of that they have a problem with us being friends? It's really none of their business- I don't get why they even hate each other so much. I mean, maybe I get why Harry dislikes your brother... he's been taunting him, and me, since first year for no reason I-"
"I actually don't believe that my brother is the problem here-" Hailey cuts me off.
"What? What do you mean- Harry's really done nothing to him", I say, getting a bit defensive.
"Well- maybe he's said something to him without being aware of it hurting him. Uh- but lets not get into that!" She quickly gets out.
I furrow my brows, wondering what Harry could have possibly done to Draco to make him treat us in such a way, "Wait no- tell me- spit it out. What did my brother do?"
"I- I can't, I promised- never mind. And don't think I'm taking Draco's side- nothing could excuse how obnoxious and rude he is, don't worry..." She enters the dorm room and begins unpacking her stuff.
I stare at her in confusion before just shrugging it off and organizing the clothes in my closet, wondering all the while why Hailey's being so secretive, setting up my counter in the bathroom with my cosmetics and quickly taking a shower before getting ready for bed.
I put my pajamas on and flop in bed, pulling out a pen and a piece of parchment paper.
Goodnight. I love you. <3
Is what I had written on the paper. I stroked the head of my cat that laid next to me, Ginger, she was orange and white with gorgeous blue-ish green eyes. I adored her. I set the letter in front of her paw.
"To Harry please."
Her, knowing exactly what to do, took the edge of it in her mouth and stood on all four paws, hopping off the bed and running out the door and towards the Gryffindor rooms.
Now this may seem a tad bit extra or unusual for a sibling to do. But- I love my brother to death and you never know when you can lose someone important to you. After all, he is my only family, so we like to make the most of it.
I lay in bed waiting for my cat to prance back into the room. Minutes later, she comes back with the same piece of parchment in her mouth, but with what seems to be Harry's writing on the back of it. She jumps back onto my bed, setting it in front of me and curling up in a ball, laying down. I pet her and look at the writing.
I love you too. Goodnight little sis. <3
I smile and roll my eyes, I swear he'll call me that for the rest of my life. I set the paper on my nightstand and switch the lamp off.
"Night Hailey. See you in the morning."
"See you in the morning", she lets out a small chuckle and turns off her own lamp, her cat, Kiki, joining beside her.
