Hailey's POV
We lifted off into the air and I had my eyes tightly shut, not even wanting to see what was going on. That damn giant put me on here with Potter! And wait-
I didn't even realize I had grabbed onto his waist. I was holding his waist. Potter. Ew. I opened my eyes slightly and tried to release my grip but we started to dive down towards the lake and my arms found themselves around his waist again.
"You alright back there?" I heard him say.
"Are you crazy?! No! I'm on the back of a hippogriff- clinging onto you.... and- AUGH!" I was splashed with a bit of water from the lake, making him laugh. I furrowed my brows but kept a tight hold on him. Is it weird that I kind of had a comforting feeling when I was holding onto him? What- NO! No I shouldn't even be saying that. Repulsive.
He let out a long holler and it made me chuckle under my breath a bit. He seemed happy. And I didn't mind. Thank Merlin it wasn't my brother riding with him or else he would have shoved the boy into the lake. Buckbeak pulled up and we jolted forward, causing me to scream a bit. He laughed again.
"Shut up Golden Boy."
"Oh relax Malfoy, I'm having fun."
"I can clearly see that."
We flew over the castle and Merlin- it was gorgeous from this angle. My arms tightened around him and I felt him tense up a bit, glancing back at me. I didn't dare make eye contact with him. I swear if I had people saying that I clung onto him while riding a hippogriff and making it this huge deal- ugh. Not happening.
We started to fly back towards the forest and my grip loosened. I kind of enjoyed this. That feeling of freedom. Potters scent was filling my nostrils- ugh I was probably gonna smell like him. But he didn't smell that bad. His cucumber scented shampoo was strong.
We dove towards the ground and I found myself gripping his waist again, squealing in fear as we landed. Everyone ooed and awed and clapped as we got off of the hippogriff. Potter smiled at me and I was about to smile back but I quickly caught myself and sneered at him.
But what I didn't realize was that I really enjoyed that.
