"In the flesh, September," Drew said, smirking, leaning back against the door. Blocking it. Not making it seem like he was actually trying to block it, but his intentions were clear: he didn't want anyone leaving right now.

"Why... why the hell are you here?!" May couldn't stop the tears from welling up in her eyes.

"So, tell me." Drew casually tossed her a rose, as if it was an everyday thing. "Why did you leave?"

"You don't need to know," May said sharply. "Get out of here, Grasshead." He laughed without humor.

"Still fiesty as ever, I see," he remarked sarcastically. May growled and took a step closer to Drew. Drew would never admit it, but his stomach lurched when he saw the tears in the eyes of the woman that he loved.

"I HATE YOU, DREW!" May shouted. "I HATE EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE TO MAKE MY LIFE MISERABLE! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT, HOW YOU SUGGESTED THAT WE GO TO THAT PARTY! WE GOT FUCKING DRUNK AND EVERYTHING WENT DOWNHILL FROM THERE! DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, HAYDEN?! DO YOU?!"

Drew's mouth opened and closed like a goldfish. He had no idea what to say.

"WELL I'LL TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENED! YOU GOT ME PREGNANT!"

"...!"

"AND I HAD NOTHING! I REPEAT, NOTHING! I WAS TOO ASHAMED OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED SO THAT'S WHY I LEFT YOU ASSHOLE! AND FURTHERMORE, I HAD NO MONEY-!" May stopped shouting and everyone could tell that she was trying her best to keep herself from sobbing. "So I had to give her up..."

"..." Drew was speechless.

"That's right, Drew. Our child is living somewhere out there with another family. And she'll never know us..." May's expression turned angry again. "Which is good, so then she wouldn't have to have an asshole like you for her father."

"I'm... sorry... May..." Drew's voice was barely a whisper. May's eyes widened in surprise.

"Wh-what? You're sorry? A-and you called me b-by my real n-name?!" May stared at her ex-boyfriend in disbelief. Drew looked at her from underneath his green fringe.

"I know. I'm sorry for everything I've done. I understand." He took a deep breath. "I'll get out of your life. Just like you've always dreamed, right? May Maple... I'm sorry I love you..." And then he was gone. Faster than a Jolteon.

"DREW! WAIT!" May ran after her lover, leaving (Name) and Gary to stand there awkwardly.

"I don't know why, but-" (Name) stopped herself.

"What?" Gary questioned.

"May mentioned that she had to give up her child..." (Name) murmured lowly.

"Yeah, what about it?" Gary asked.

"Do you K- no, of course not, that's ridiculous-"

"You think Kaila may be their child?" (Name) was silent for a moment.

"I do. I actually do. Drew's eyes. I know I've seen them somewhere. And I realized that it was on Kaila. May's brown hair. Kaila's brunette too. Of course, it's probably just a coincidence but-"

"No. I believe you." (Name) stopped.

"You d-do?" Gary nodded.

"May and Drew... they've had a long history together." Probably not as long the history we shared. "They were contest rivals for seven consecutive years before it finally got through their thick heads that they loved each other."

Sounds almost exactly like us, Gary...

In our former life...

Where you knew and remembered everything, everyone.

"What happened that caused Drew to be so mad?"

"May disappeared five years ago without warning anybody. She made her friends swear on their honor not to tell Drew or any of his friends. I happen to fall in the category of "Drew's friends" therefore when I met her, I had no idea she was the girl that Drew had been looking for."

"There's another clue," (Name) blurted out.

"Another clue of what?"

"Kaila is 4 years old. If May had been pregnant for about nine months, then her child would be four too."

"Kaila..." Gary frowned. "How did you form such a tight bond with her?" Because we're both the same. We're both alone.

"I volunteer at the orphanage. I met her there and she was one of my favorite kids. We just became closer from there, I guess," (Name) said instead.

"Ah. I see." Gary paused. "So, who's your boyfriend?" (Name) stiffened.

"I never had a boyfriend," she said rather coldly.

"No, like, who was the boy that Kaila was talking about? The one she thought was me?" That boy is you...

"No one that cares about me anymore..." (Name) sighed. "Our story was almost exactly like May and Drew's. Except we were too late. We fell in love too late."

"Oh... I'm sorry... did he...?"

"Not exactly. It's something worse than that." (Name)'s heart ached. Why must it be this way? The man I love is right in front of me! Yet he doesn't remember one thing about me...

All because of that stupid Ana.

"Do you think May and Drew are going to get back together?" (Name) asked.

"Who knows? More than likely they will, though," Gary remarked, shrugging. "The best way to let them calm down at each other is to let them figure out and solve the problem, on their own."

"By the way... have you heard of Dawn? Dawn Berlitz?" Gary stiffened.

"Well... yes. She's actually one of my best friend's, Paul's, girlfriend." Gary sighed. "She's a really nice person but she went missing a couple of weeks ago, and Paul left to find her but we haven't heard from him."

"Dawn's my boss. And one of my best friends. I miss her so much..."

"You know, I'm starting to think that there are too many coincidences going on here," Gary blurted.

"What are you talking about?"

"First of all, I found Kaila and helped her out at the preschool when kids were making fun of her. Then, she took me to you. And then, you were "coincidentally" the person who Gramps had assigned me to stay with. Then May, who we both happened to know, is actually the ex of Drew, one of my best friends. Dawn, your boss, just happens to be the girlfriend of one of my best friends, Paul. And we somehow both know that Dawn is probably not just gone for a bit longer, but in trouble. Finally, Kaila has green eyes like Drew and brown hair like May. Her presumed year of birth would fit into the time frame of when Drew got May pregnant." Gary scratched his imaginary beard. "What kind of game is this?"

"Oh, alright alright Einstein," (Name) teased. "Fine. Maybe this whole thing is maybe more than a coincidence."

"But what the "more" part is is what we need to know..."

??? P.O.V.

I am succeeding. By using this human's body, my powers are more powerful. I am making sure everything can turn out right.

This trainer I am possessing is very kind, I know, and also very smart. She trains Water-types, like me, too.

I am watching who Cresselia wants me to help. That poor girl is injured and missing... I worry so much about her.

While she is away, though, I am trying to make sure that everything goes well for now.

But I need to make sure that they think that everything is just a coincidence.

This was horribleeeeeeee
