𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐀'𝐒 eyes slid over to Cyril's, silently berating him for his carelessness. Didn't he know how suspicious it would look if the head of the Eisenberg family, who were known for their neutrality, was seen having an isolated conversation with the second prince outside of the palace?

It seemed he understood her message, and he looked down in shame.

Felix chuckled. "It must've been worrying to find your brother missing. Please, do not stress yourself, as Lord Eisenberg and I were merely conversing on the empire's latest politics and economical levels."

Cyril nodded in affirmation. Victoria sighed. "Very well. I am glad to hear that there were no problems. If you'll excuse me, I believe it is around time to leave for home."

However, just as she turned to leave, she spotted a dark figure lurking behind one of the trees surrounding the garden.

"Your highness, do you have a small, sharp object?" She asked quietly. "Or do you?" She also asked her brother.

Both shook their heads no in confusion, and Victoria sighed again at their uselessness. "Very well. Please stay where you are."

She raised her arm up to her hair, where she pulled out the pin that held it into a bun. Pulling it out at once, she ignored her hair as it tumbled down her back and held the sharp needle between her fingers.

In one movement, Victoria threw the pin at the figure, flicking her wrist sharply, and nodded when it hit the person in their stomach. They dropped to their knees, falling forward onto the grass.

Victoria walked towards the person, seeing now that it was a middle aged man, most likely a random assassin sent by a lowly noble.

"Take him, please." She called to a few guards who had come at the commotion and thud. They nodded and dragged him away, none too nicely, letting him hit his head on many rocks.

"L-lady Eisenberg, just as said, your skills are amazing." Prince Felix spoke in awe, gazing at Victoria with a different look than before.

"Thank you. But my skills, as you say, are not simply throwing needles." Victoria curtseyed. "As I said before, I shall be taking my leave with Cyril, your highness. May the sun shine on us all." She quickly took her brother's arm and left, leaving behind an impressed second prince.

-

"You fool. I said speak with the second prince, not create a scandal." Victoria lectured her younger brother as soon as they were in their carriage. "Now people will think we are conspiring against the crown prince!"

Cyril sat in shame, his head hung low. "I'm sorry, older sister."

"You better be. And I hope that you created a good enough bond with the second prince that the foolish risk you took was worth it."

The male looked up with sparkling eyes, finally given the opportunity to prove his efforts today. "I did! He told me many secrets and many of his dreams."

Victoria nodded in approval. "Good. Tell me more at home. But don't get cocky, because arrogance is always the main reason for the downfall of almost all nobles."

Cyril eagerly nodded, smiling in pride. "Shall I give you a massage at home?" He offered.

"I would appreciate that, thank you."
