𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 morning, Victoria woke up with the realization that she had skipped out on work. She groaned and quickly jumped out of bed, and after urging her maid to skip the unnecessary things, she threw her bedroom door open and flew out of the room.

Cyril was already out in the hall, walking towards his office, and when he saw his older sister running, he called her name.

"Victoria?"

The woman waved her hand dismissively. "I'll be back, I just need to save some lives."

"A-alright. Wait, but the hospital? I heard t-"

But his sister had already left.

-

"How many today?" Victoria asked as soon as she entered the medical building. She immediately tied her hair back and took the gloves given to her by a junior assistant.

"Around 5 in the emergency rooms, and 10 with more mild cases, my lady. However, that is just from this morning, and we are still unsure of how many more patients will arrive."

Victoria frowned. In her past life, there were only 2 to three patients operated on per hour, yet here there were five in the emergency rooms waiting for surgeries. Even with the presence of magic, people were injured more.

No. The woman frowned further. It was especially increased today. Why were there so many injured people? "Anna." She turned towards an assistant. "Was there an accident close by today? Maybe a failed magic spell in the academy, or a carriage running over people?"

Anna looked through the clipboard she was holding, before widening her eyes. "Oh my god. There was apparently a man in the middle of the market today, going berserk with his magic and wounding several people. There were even some casualties..."

Victoria turned back and continued her jog to the emergency rooms, pondering deeply. Trying to remember. Was there a part of the novel, where some crazy man had unleashed his magic in the market?

The woman almost tripped over her feet. There was. How could she forget? It was practically the catalyst for the introduction of the actual antagonist, the Teacher. Or so he called himself. It turned out he was a genius wizard with a depressing back story, who reached out his claws to obtain power. Much like Victoria herself. However, he also had a superiority complex, which was not cute. The wizard's face was definitely cute though. Hot, even. His real name wasn't revealed to the end, and Victoria honestly couldn't care to know.

"How about the man who went berserk? Is he here?"

"Room 104, my lady."

-

"Hello, Mr. Alex." Victoria smiled as warmly as she could, sitting down next to the now frail man who had been on a murderous rampage earlier.

"W-who are you? Where am I?"

"I am a doctor, and you are in a hospital."

After taking care of all the victims, who survived thanks to Victoria's skills, she headed straight towards the culprits room. He had been operated on by doctors she trusted, and thankfully he was still alive for questioning.

"W-what did I do?" Alex swallowed. He seemed to be a man of forty, most likely with a family.

He was ugly.

"It wasn't your fault, you were manipulated by an unknown magic user. Its alright now, just sleep."

His lack of awareness and genuine confusion told Victoria enough. It was the Teacher's doing for sure, and although Victoria knew from the start, the people in the novel were now real people she had to interact with. She had the responsibility of assuring everyone.

"You'll be discharged from here in a few d-" Suddenly, Victoria looked up from her clipboard. She stood up, ignoring her stool that moved with a loud screech, and the startled face of Alex.

Instead, she leaned closer. Her eyes were open wide, and the menacing kill intent inside them froze Alex down to the core. The woman placed a hand on the wall above the hospital bed, and her hair slid off her shoulders like a dark, ominous curtain. "What is that?"

In the novel, the Teacher was always able to predict and see his opponent's moves. It was stated vaguely it was because of an ability he had called Sauron's Eye, (familiar) but it was never stated HOW exactly that would allow him to peer far beyond where he sat.

Now Victoria's answers were questioned.

The female lifted up a finger and placed it right next to Alex's left eye. The man immediately felt the area become numb, and he started to panic.

"Stay still or your brain will disconnect from your eyes." Victoria then lifted her finger and brought right in front of the man's pupil. Suddenly, she quickly shoved her two fingers into the socket, and brought them back out just as quickly. Alex couldn't feel anything. However, he could see, and what he saw was the doctor in front of him holding his eyeball in her hand. So, obviously, he shrieked.

"Shut up." Victoria spoke sharply and coldly, a stark difference from her warm persona shown earlier. Alex closed his mouth in shock.

The woman studied the eye, before taking a scalpel from her pocket and cutting the sclera (top layer of an eyeball) cleanly open. "Oh, you sneaky bastard."

"Did a man blow something into your eye before you blacked out?" Victoria demanded, and Alex nodded quickly.

"Interesting. Well, here's your eye back." She said casually, after mumbling a spell and cleansing the eye of everything, until there was no sense of magic left.

"T-thank you?" Alex answered, as the lady shoved his eye back into its socket with a pop, and healed it just as quickly.

"Hm."

-

Victoria cleaned her hands with a rag as she stepped out of the room, and closed the door behind her.

"Everything alright?"

The first prince asked.
