"C'mon Zak. I'm sure she'll allow it. Well, only 99.9% sure." Puffy comforted Zak, or at least tried to.
"99.9%? What happened to the 0.1% Puffy? Huh? Answer me that!" Zak said, while Puffy rolled her eyes on this.
"What's the worst that can happen? She'll just say no-"
"Well she can ban me from thinking of an absurd idea! Y'know mom's busy, and I don't even wanna waste her time by saying 'Hey, mom. I want to go to this mission. Can I?' Besides, who just straight up asks their legal guardian to allow them to go on a mission?"
Puffy raised her hand.
"I literally asked my mom in that exact way." Zak stared at her for a second as if she was a sociopath.
"Fine. I'll ask her then. But what about dad?"
"Mr. Zachary doesn't care about what anyones doing as long as its not hurting anyone, it's reasonable, and everyones happy."
"Yeah, I guess thats a fair point."
Zak reached his moms door, irrational thoughts rushing to his mind.
He sighed, facing the door. He didn't know why he was so nervous, he was clueless. He could guess, maybe its the fact that he hadn't went anywhere for a while, it could be because this is his first time he ever wanted to do something like this, perhaps its because his mom is a professional at adventuring and she's laugh at how pathetic he seems, but he couldn't be sure.
He always had problems figuring out emotions and the reason for them, but then again, he never tried. He seen himself as a coward, afraid of his own emotions and what he would do about them.
His friend noticed him fidgeting, and she couldn't help but be nervous too. She always empathized with everyone she's close too, which she sees as a weakness.
She placed her hand on her friends shoulder, rubbing circles unto it to try to calm him down.
Zak subconsciously started nodding as a way to tell her to continue and he was calming down.
"Okay, okay." Zak muttered, giving himself his own version of a pep talk.
He hesitantly placed his hand on the doorknob, and finally opened the door.
"Hey Mom." Mrs. Amy looked up, her eyes widened, which showed the dark bags under her eyes.
"Zak, hello! Sit down, sit down." Queen Amy had her brown hair in a messy ponytail, being too long to put into a bun. Coffee and... who-knows-what stains are on her clothes. There were papers all around the room, it wouldn't be hard to convince you that someone came in for the sole-purpose of messing it up. For someone as formal as Amy, you'd think that she didn't have a room as messy as this.
Zak stared a second too long around the room, and his mother noticed.
"I know, I know, its a mess." She sighed before giving a small laugh.
"Mom, can I ask you something?" Zak ignored her statement, feeling like both of them didn't want to talk about it.
"Yeah, sure sweetie. Go ahead."
"Can I go to the Nether Mission?"
"Isn't that, like, 3 weeks away?"
"Ye- I mean, no. Techno told me that its been moved to be about 1 week away? I think its 6 days, specifically." Zak informed. 'Wait, crap, Techno! I forgot about him.'
She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, messing her ponytail up even more. She muttered something to herself, something along the lines of "How did I not know." She searched around for a second before finally finding her calendar.
She flipped a few pages, writing something. Zak stood there, trying to see every once in a while but giving up as he realised she wasn't writing in English...she was, her handwriting is just a bit messy.
"Okay, okay. I can squeeze some time in. Have fun, Zak." She gave a sweet smile, even if she looked like a mess. "Do you know anyone there? I don't want you to go to a new place with strangers."
"Yeah, Puffy is going."
"Okay, good! I like Cara. Okay, okay, okay, you can go now."
Zak gave a nod, before shyly going through the door.
He quietly closed the door, turning around and there was Puffy, leaning unto the wall and checking out her nails. This startled the boy, which made him shout for a second. And that also made her shout for a while.
"So..." Puffy started, dragging out the 'o'.
"So?"
"How'd it go? Do you wanna talk about it?"
"It was...fine."
"So she said it was fine?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
"Hah, I told you." Puffy gave Zak a little nudge and a large smirk.
Zak just rolled his eyes and blew his hair out of his face.
"Wait, aren't you supposed to be at training?"
"Shoot."
