"Zak, your room is a mess."

"Huh?" I found myself in my room, but its..different. Instead of that sweet, sweet, homey feel, there's a sense of unfamiliarity. Everything is oddly the same.

I found my mother moving around my things. Confused, I called her.

"Don't 'mom' me, Zak Ahmed. Y'know, I expected better of you. Seriously, you still have that book? Minecraft? Grow up."

"B-but, its my favorite book?" I stammered.

"What are you, a child?" She ignored my previous statement, making me feel more look like a stranger.

I blinked and found myself away from where I previously was. It was like I was floating, then I looked at the view.

Everything was pitch black, except for the room. I could see..me and mom in there. It was like a set in a play, and I was the audience who can't control the character and could only watch.

What is happening?

"Zak!"

I jolted up, accidentally hitting my mother in the face.

"Sorry!"

"Its fine, are you okay?" She rubbed her forehead.

"Yeah, yeah."

"Pfft- I am now stepping at least 1 feet away when waking you up."

"Fair enough."

"Now, get ready. You're meeting Zoid. You did remember that, right?"

I stood up suddenly, which startled my mom and she let out a yelp.

I ran to my closet and took out clothes.

"You didn't prepare your clothes yesterday?" She asked, she tried to hide the fact that she was piss since this was a big deal.

"Yeah, I know. I know. I'm a mess and can't even prepare clothes. I'm sorry!" I immediately regretted saying that, but I didn't have time for that.

"Hey, don't shout at me! I am your mother." She stated in a commanding tone.

"I already said I was sorry!" I snapped. It was obvious that none of us knew how to defuse arguments, or at least control what we say.

She sighed and rubbed her temple.

"I made breakfast downstairs." She informed, her tone unreadable. I gave an audible hum.

As she left the room, I just sighed and stood there for a second and looked at the floor.

I was tired, I didn't need this.

I looked across the closet, not finding what I was looking for.

I settled down for a black button up polo, but now I gotta look for pants and a shirt to put under.

I saw one of my old black shirts. I chuckled, remembering that I wore it under my maid dress. I was pranking all of the other maids, I covered my face with a mask, used a wig, and pretended I was mute...it was working so well until a person who knew ASL came in.

I gotta admit tho, the maid outfit was comfy...I may or may not have worn it more than once. Hey! Can you blame me? It made me feel confident too.

I walked down the stairs, looking at each steps to avoid tripping, and maybe to avoid looking at my mother.

"Hey, Zak." She said in that sweet tone, but it was slightly forced. She always acted like we didn't have arguments and then expect me to forgive her, even if there's nothing she did to make up for it...but to be fair, I guess I do that too.

"Hello."

I sat down the table and looked at my food, planning to gobble it down as fast as I can and then make a run for it.

"So..how's your day?"

"I literally just woke up and you were there to see it."

"An 'its good' would've sufficed." She mumbled to herself. I guess we were both pissed over that small argument.

I just sighed and she stayed quiet, sensing that I didn't want to talk anymore. I felt a slight tinge of guilt, but tried to ignored it as I'm to stressed for this.

We both finished eating, and then my father called me up for my ride. I went to the main room, grabbed my bag, and I went, saying goodbye to both of my parents and kissing their cheeks.

The ride was peaceful. Finally, a time where I get to have all of my thoughts gobble me up. That sounds weird, nevermind.

~

We arrived, sooner than I wish. I was longing for it to be longer, I want to hear the galloping horses and see the views. I paid the man before entering the castle, and gave a small nod before leaving.

I arrived at the destined place, seeing a woman with a long gray dress, and was sitting with her leg crossed.

She looked around for a second, her green bun bouncing when she glanced another direction. She finally spotted me. Her silver crown slightly blinding me as it reflected the suns light.

She patted the seat next to her, so I sat.

"Hello, Sir. Zak." She greeted with a slight lisp. I came here to tell you that...I am in love with another."
