Backstory

Song is raising a tsunami with the Dragon's Eye to flood Erdas and destroy Greenhaven, once and for all. Sid, Wikam, Kana, and Cordelia have all been defeated or surrendered, and only Empress Song remains standing on a rock in the midst of a wave, miles high. Meilin manages to swim to her perch, barely avoiding the sharp boulders, and the two of them fight with their hands and feet. Both of them are skilled in martial arts, but Meilin catches Song in a wrist lock. Song twists away when Meilin gets distracted by Seaspray. Rollan flies Meilin to shore, and Meilin tricks Seaspray into rising to his full height before the crumbling cliff and summer palace crush the empress and her spirit animal.

Review

Well, if we're being realistic here, Song's last words would probably have been something of a terrible scream as pebbles rained down on her and her own palace smooshed her into a puddle, but let's not talk about that. Let's instead talk about how abusive her father was. Seriously, she was so happy when she called Seaspray as a spirit animal, and the two of them would have grown up to be the most adorable yet powerful pair - ruling Zhong when her time came with a legendary water dragon by her side! Back then, in Asian (Zhongese) areas, water dragons were very symbolic and respected - I should know, from Korean mythology ;-; anywho, her ungrateful father frowns upon "smol" Seaspray and is disappointed in Song instead of proud of her for calling him. Poor Song - even in one of her last moments, she was thinking of how she's "risen to her father's level" and wonders if she would get his approval now, even though she hates him. Power does terrible things to people.
