I stumble down the latter not even caring that I was afraid of heights.
"H-hey" I pant walking towards Alby, his long strides were hard to keep up with.
"-you" *dying breath* cant just *another dying breath* leave me like that!!!" I rush out tired from almost sprinting to catch up to him.
"Leave it alone, you'll find out soon enough" Alby says.
I was now steadily walking beside him, I scratch the back of my head in confusion. What was this place hiding.
Although I felt more comfortable I was still scared. I mean I had only been here for a few hours, it was already getting quite dark and-
And-
Shit, I still don't remember my name!!! My brain fumbled and flips as I try to piece together something. ANYTHING. It's like it's right there, on the tip of my tongue.
As if Alby had read my mind he says "Still don't know your name? Yea, we all know that feeling. It's like it's right there! You'll get it back though, don't worry."
I couldn't believe that he knew that. I guess he was used to the same question: "why cant I remember my name?"
"Hey cmon greenie, lighten up!!! You've got people to meet, memories to make, and a celebration to soon attend." Alby said cheerfully.
I look at him and nod my head with my lips parted. I hadn't realized how dry they had gotten so I licked them and felt them glaze over.
Alby is striding towards the British boy, Newt as I remember from before. He's quite the scrawny thing, but seems in good shape. He's caked with dirt and sweat and is breathing deeply as I was from earlier. He's bent over some plants, and is digging some holes for new seeds to be placed.
"Hey Nrwt!" Alby calls to the boy.
"Hey Alby, how's the crazy She-bean?" Newt laughs back.
"S-she bean? What kind of shit name is that? I have a name you know....it just hasn't quite come to me yet!" I say crossing my arms over my chest and burning a gaze into the boy.
"I d'know, we call the newbies here greenbeans, and since your the first girl, I guess your she-bean?" Newt questions.
"Right-" Alby claps his hands together "this is my second in command Newt. He's in charge here in case I'm not around. He reports back to me and helps me keep order in this place." Alby says looking at Newt.
"Hmmm...pleasure" I say sarcastically sticking out my hand for him to shake and giving him a weak smile. He shakes it back. I don't know why but although everyone is friendly here I still can't help but have this gut feeling.
"I'll see you at the bonfire She bean!" Newt laughs, and this time I give a semi genuine smile.
Wait? Bonfire?
Me and Alby walk across the glade towards the kitchen where he had led me before. The thought of the so called bonfire comes back to me. I stop and reach my arm out to stop him too.
"What did he mean?"
"What do you mean?"
"A bonfire, what's the bonfire for?"
"Oh well that's your celebration. You see, EVERYTIME a new greenie comes up, or in your case a she bean-" I give him a nasty glare. "-we host a bonfire, in celebration of their arrival!" Alby states
