I woke up with a start, my heart thumping in my chest wildly. A line of perspiration trailed down my neck and my legs felt numb. Feeling that familiar wave of paralysis sweep in, I tried to calm my mind down, breathing heavily. Unable to move, frustration slowly kicks in.
It was happening.
I lay still, trying with all my might to let it pass. Minutes slip into what feels like hours before I can finally move. A jolt of electricity helped me sit upright. I push the loose strands of my bangs away from my face and clasp my arms around my knees, lightly rocking my body back and forth. I could feel a rush of anxiety whirling in the pits of my abdomen. I try breathing harder but it feels stuck in my throat. No longer able to hold the tears, my eyelids let them drip, leaving a glistening trail on my face.
Why was this happening...
What was I doing here? In a place where nobody knew me, surrounded by strangers and strange yet beautiful sights. The ghost of him levitating in the oddest of places.
Millions of thoughts swirled in my mind. No longer able to take it anymore, I just shut it off and it's quiet. Too quiet.
I check the time, it was 3:23 AM. I rub my temples slowly getting off of the bed, wrapping my robe tighter around my body. I slip out of the hotel, into the darkness. Walking towards nowhere in particular.
Surely it wasn't safe to be out at this time... my mind screamed at me.
But my legs had a life of their own and it just continued. The cold breeze hugged my body as I took each step forward. The earth beneath my feet was cold and icy, hostile. I tugged my robe around my body tighter.
Moments later I find myself in front of cafe Magnate.
That was odd...
I reach the doors to find it locked and leave an exasperated sigh.
What on earth am I doing here... my mind trailed off mid-thought when I caught movement from the corner of my eyes. I turn around to see a figure, it's not clear, so I move closer. As I move closer, the figure takes the form of a person, dressed in white engulfing their body in a halo effect. I move closer, dazed. The person moves farther. I move forward. The closer I get, the farther they move. The person stops abruptly and slowly turns around. I stand rooted to my spot and I stare helplessly. The streetlight hits his angular face, shining brightly. His curious eyes gaze at me, beautiful, rounded, crescent-shaped eyes slowly taking me in. His lips are slightly parted, round and plump. I feel a familiar rush of shivers down my spine.
It's you, I think to myself before I feel my consciousness slip away.
I open my eyes to a start. Confused, I rub my eyes and slowly take in my surroundings. I'm back in my hotel room, under the sheets.
How...
"What was that?" I ask myself, sitting in the dark. "It must've been a dream," I wonder, "A damn good but weird dream," I mumble before falling back to sleep.

After spending a lazy afternoon in my hotel, practically doing nothing, I leave the hotel to do a little bit of wandering. I walk aimlessly around Busanjin-gu, my EOS DSLR hung around my neck. I snap pictures of random trees, an empty bench, half-eaten ice cream on the sidewalk all melted, and just anything that catches my attention.
The day dissolves by quickly and after having a decent meal of delicious seafood I wander around the town before deciding to head back to my hotel to call it a night.
