I smooth over the wrinkly bedsheet as I slowly climb on top of the bouncy bed and splay my fatigued body on it. I stare up at the ceiling, a smile slowly creeping its way on my face before I find myself grinning wide, covering my face with my hands as I slowly shake my head to snap out of it.
I knew what I was feeling but I dared not admit it. I let the feeling linger in the depths of my soul fearing that if I let it out and consume me I'd be far too broken to be repaired.
I knew it wasn't anything monumental, probably a pen pall kind of situation but my tendency to romanticize even the smallest of things is what made me a marvelous writer, and while it was one of my biggest strengths, it was also the stairway to my downfall.
Jimin.
I recall his charming, chiseled face and reach my hand out, into the air, almost feeling his cheeks touch my fingertips. The way his eyes would practically disappear as his boyish grin appeared on his face and the countless times he would flip his hair back before letting a few strands fall on his forehead, I couldn't help but smile thinking about our little unofficial date or whatever it was.
Something about him felt oddly familiar, and I just could not put my finger on it.
I snap from the trail of my thoughts as my phone buzzes on the bedside table. I reach out and grab it to see a notification from Snapchat. I swipe up to see "Jimin Park added you", I quickly accept and his message pops up in my chat.
I quickly type in my reply.
