Music to listen to for this chapter: Lie by BTS Jimin
It took roughly about five minutes before I stepped foot at the entrance of Nataraja Academy. My heart was pounding in my chamber and I felt breathless as if I had just run all the way from cafe Magnate to here. I slowly enter the building and am stopped by the main door by a guard.
"I'm here to meet Jiminie," I say, feeling a little unsteady and unsure.
"Jimin?" the guard asks eyeing me cautiously.
His name was Jimin!
"Uh yeah, Jimin, he's an instructor here," I say.
"Right, of course, I'll just need you to sign here," he says grabbing a register.
I quickly sign and wear the 'visitor' card around my neck.
"You'll find him in hall No. 5, straight from here, towards the right," he says showing the directions with his hand.
"Great, thank you!" I say politely before heading to the hall.
I stop in front of a large white door marked HALL 5 and I can hear a piece of faint music coming from inside. It was a beautiful orchestra, the violin syncopating into a melodious rhythm bringing out powerful emotions. I slowly push open the door and take a peek inside.
There, in the middle stood Jimin, oblivious to my intrusion. Should I just turn around and leave?
Although I very much felt like leaving, I couldn't move, my legs were rooted to the spot and I stare straight ahead at Jimin.
The music has a gothic ring to it like evil is afoot and has a touch of Baroque vibe to it. I recall hearing this on the radio a couple of times and I'm bewitched by the music yet once again. It was the kind of song you would listen to in an abandoned castle, running in a ball gown with a dagger strapped to your thigh to assassinate the crown prince who you accidentally caught feelings for during the whole deception and manipulation process. The beat of the track was a 6/8 consisting of a hasty rare quop to portray a disturbed and conflicted mind, fighting off one's own self, reinforced with a classic romanticism type of orchestral composition. The song begins with sharp violins in contrast to a deep rumbling counter bass and some minor key strings that create an unsettling atmosphere warning one of incoming evil. It perfectly captures one's internal monologue of fighting against one's demons to overcome and find your way to liberation and self-realization.
I stand, enthralled by his work of art. His dancing was one of a kind, something you were born with and not something you learned or acquired. Each move told a story, shared pain, and trauma and I could feel what he was expressing, deep in the core of my soul. I had never seen anyone perform with so much perfection and precision. His moves were swift yet carried out fluidly. It was impossible to dance like that, it was divine, deific. His hands raised to the empyrean, pleading for liberation and peace within the depths of one's own suffocating mind. It was terrific and I feel the breath knock out of my lungs as I stare at his dance, in awe. Completely mind-blown.
Emotions oozed out of his body and I'm carried to the deepest, darkest corners of my psyche. My mind almost traveling to my suppressed and repressed emotions I shielded away and locked up tightly to protect my ego.
