Chapter 13

Techno was sat on a bench in the courtyard, feeling nervous for reasons unknown to him. He and Dream had agreed to talk, Techno still wasn't sure what he had done wrong. It wasn't his fault he didn't know the works of human emotions.

"Uh, Techno?" Dream said, walking over to him and sitting down cautiously.

"I-I'm sorry Dream," Techno mumbled, fiddling with his hoodie drawstrings.

"Do you really not know what you did wrong?" Dream asked softly, he didn't sound mad like he did last night.

"I don't- I can't- I-" Technos panicked stuttering got interrupted by Dream pulling him into a hug.

"It's okay Techno, I forgive you. I overreacted," Deam mumbled into Technos shoulder. Techno hugged back, wrapping his arms around Dream tightly.

"And about me and Julie," Dream started, breaking the comfortable silence.

"Yes?" Techno lifted his head to look at Dream, their arms still wrapped around one another.

"We aren't dating," Dream said nervously, "We were doing it t make you jealous."

"You- what?"

"I'm sorry Techno."

Techno smiled slightly and leaned his face closer to Dream, "Well it worked." Techno closed the small space between them and kissed Dream softly. Dream dug his fingers into Technos long hair and kissed him back.

"Will you be my boyfriend?" Techno asked, for once his voice loaded with emotion. Dream was taken aback and just sat there staring at Techno.

"Uh, you don't have to answer right now if you don't want. Or at all, I can go.."

"Yes," Dream smiled, "I'd love to be your boyfriend."

Techno smiled brightly and leaned back in to kiss Dream. Suddenly the bell rang, breaking them apart abruptly.

"Would you accompany me on a date after school?" Techno asked formally, making Dream chuckle.

"Of course Techno."

~After School~

"Wow, I honestly thought you'd never make a move," Sapnap said, impressed.

"I didn't really do anything, Techno made all the moves," Dream said, rifling through his clothes.

"Hm, strange," Sapnap walked up to Dream, "Do you need some help picking out clothes?"

"Uh, I think I'll be fine."

"Do you know where you're going?"

"He hasn't told me, it's a surprise."

"Hm, how weird."

"What is?"

"Just, I've never seen Techno so emotional."

"Really?"

"Yeah, if Wilbur wasn't his brother he'd never socialize. Before you came here I had never seen him smile. It's pretty sweet actually."

Dream blushed and faced away from Sapnap, looking into the closet.

~30 minutes later~

"So are you going to tell me where we're going?" Dream asked, he and Techno were in Technos car driving somewhere unknown to Dream.

"No."

Dream chuckled and looked out the window, passing by fields that seemed familiar.

"We're here," Techno announced, ten minutes later. Dream unbuckled his seatbelt and practically flew out of the car.

"Follow me," Techno said, holding out his hand for Dream to take.

Techno lead Dream through an uneven path through an overgrown forest, to an opening that led to an unnaturally blue lake.

"Holy shit," Dream gasped, squeezing Technos hand in awe, "What is this place?"

"It's my place, I found it when I was a child and was running away from my problems."

"It's so surreal."

"Shall we sit?" Techno chuckled, gesturing towards a blanket set up next to the lake. Techno and Dream both sat down next to each other.

"Is this where you ran off to the first time I was at your house?" Dream asked.

"Mhm, yeah

"Are you alright Techno? You look kinda deep in thought," Dream chuckled.

"I was just thinking about Julie," Techno said absently.

"Uh, what?" Dream asked, his smile faltering.

"You said that she was trying to make someone jealous too, who was it?" Techno asked.

"Oh, hmm I'm not even sure. I'm going to ask," Dream said, pulling out his phone and texting Julie.

Dream:  Hey hey hey hey hey hey.

Julie: Weirdo

Dream: I need you to tell me something.

Julie: What is it?

Dream: Who were you trying to make jealous?

Julie: I'm with them right now actually haha

Dream: Send me a picture!

"Hah, I fucking knew it!" Dream shouted, startling Techno.

"What on earth?"

"I knew Julie gave me bi vibes," Dream showed Techno the picture, Julie and a blonde girl who was kissing her cheek.

"So I really was jealous for nothing," Techno said, shaking his head.

"I suppose you were," Dream leaned in and kissed his cheek, "Now let's eat, I'm so hungry."

~Later~

"Dad wanted me to go back over today, he's worried about me because of the past week," Techno said, him and Dream getting in the car.

"Can I come?" Dream asked, fastening his seatbelt.

"I mean sure, dad would like to see you." Techno started up the car and drove away, grabbing Dreams hand and smiling slightly.
