Everyone was silent on the elevator ride up. I held Holly close, feeling sorry for earlier. I couldn't continue denying it, but didn't want her die.

As I held her, I began to doubt the chances of us ever getting married. As much as I wanted to, there was never going to be enough time. But that was the least of my worries. Right now, I had to focus on getting answers from Dad. Dad, who I haven't seen since I left the Academy. He was right.

Luther farted in the elevator. The stench was so terrible I gagged, and nearly ran out of the elevator at the chance.

The doors opened at the Kiki Lounge, and I promptly marched to a large table in the center of the room.

"Alright, when Dad gets here, I'll do the talking, okay?"

"I have some questions for him myself," Diego grumbled.

"Hey, we don't wanna scare him off. He might be able to help us stop doomsday, get us home."

"No, we need to figure out why he's planning to kill the President."

"This is matter of life and death, you imbecile."

"Maybe we should take turns," Vanya suggested. "Here, whoever has got this conch shell gets to talk."

"Vanya, we don't have time for a debate, okay?"

"Maybe I should lead," Allison said, sauntering over and grabbing the conch. "We all know I'm a better public speaker than the rest."

"Okay, Daddy's girl," Diego sneered.

"Oh, jealous, Number Two?"
