Kella's POV
I walk for a few minutes down the corridor towards where I believe the great hall is before realising I really should've asked someone where the library actually is. I decide to just keep walking and see if ill make it there on my own.
There are hardly any students around so its not like there's anyone to ask anyway.
I arrive at the great hall and look around to see if there was anyone willing to help me. A few ravenclaws huddle in a corner so I make my over to ask them.
''Hello, do you know where the library is?'' I ask politely.
The girls shrug and quickly shuffle away leaving a few boys.
''Urm..'' They say quietly and just stand there awkwardly.
I sigh in annoyance and just begin walking again on my own, that is until I hear footsteps behind me and a hand taps me on the back. I turn to see the boy that interrupted our charms lesson infront of me, smiling charmingly. He looked about 6'3, a Hufflepuff and smooth, silky hair; his features were very defined (especially his jawline).
''I heard you needed directions to the library, I'm just heading over there now, care to join me?'' He asks, still smiling.
I smile back and reply, ''Thank you! I'm Kella, a new transfer from Lester's the quidditch school-''
''I'm Cedric, Cedric Diggory. Nice to meet you Kella! Follow me.'' He interrupts.
He nods in the direction of a small corridor and I follow him all the way. We walked in silence which gave me time to think about how familiar his name felt. As we're walking I notice an old poster on the wall, it displays in large bold letters.
'TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT'
I stop to scan it a little longer, Cedric stops also to wait for me. I read on and see the names of the contestants: Fleur Delacour, Harry Potter, Victor Crum and Cedric Diggory.
''I see you've come across my downfall. Come with me into the library and i'll explain it all.'' He says, pulling off the poster and shoving it in his pocket.
We turn a corner and go through a door into the library. It was tremendous. The walls were full of book shelves, each colour coordinated perfectly. The marble flooring made the room look ravishing and so expensive; a few students milled around, browsing the shelves for a book but other than that the place was mostly empty. Cedric guided me to a secluded section at the far back of the area which was suspiciously taped off with a sign beside it reading 'Please ask a member of the library staff if you would like to enter.' and a larger sign above reading 'RESTRICTED SECTION'. He pulls me round the corner and slams the door so no one sees we're in here. Before I get to ask, Diggory begins rambling- words falling out of his mouth at a fast pace.
''So, I know we're not really supposed to be back here but its the only quiet place in here where no on can listen into what I'm going to tell you.'' He pulls the crumpled poster out of his trouser pocket and smooths it out before placing it on the floor beside where we are seated.
I looked over the poster with more detail now, noticing somethings I didn't notice before. At the bottom of the page there was a photo of the contestants, lining up outside an ominous maze, underneath labelled 'THE FINAL TASK'. It wasn't just a photograph anymore however as some idiot seems to have graffitied all over it, specifically all over Cedric. There was devil horns drawn on, as well as his eyes coloured in black and a knife sketched in his hand.
''Why would someone do this to you Cedric?'' I ask, genuinely concerned and curious.
He sighs and stretches out, laying down and facing the ceiling to avoid any confrontation.
