I kept replaying the scene over and over again in my mind as my brown and scrawny being lay in my bed in Lakewood, Ohio. My six year old self couldn't even begin to grasp what had happened on the shores of the Caspian Sea just mere hours before, when my father had suddenly picked me up and brought me home.

Before this tragic event, I was playing with a mergirl who was a year younger than I was. The mergirl named Ariel—she had a purple strapless bikini top, a teal green mermaid tail—with skin so pale and blue eyes twinkling in merriment—her red hair bounced as she went up and down, playing with her sisters, her parents, King Triton and Queen Athena, and as well as me, when suddenly, out of nowhere...a pirate ship came sailing by, everyone disappeared underwater, I had run out of the way to safer shores, and the passing ship had crushed Ariel's mother to death. I had heard of the tragedy from my father, and because of that, I was forbidden to even go to the Caspian Sea, or to the undersea kingdom of Atlantica, where Ariel, her siblings and their father reside.

My father, Jim, sat on my bed and stroked my wavy dark hair, and looked into my deep dark brown eyes. I looked into his fair face, blue eyes and dark hair.

"Because of what happened earlier today, it would be best if you stayed away from the Caspian Sea, and Atlantica, son," my father's baritone Israeli accent said gently.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because the King has made it clear that humans are evil, and will not allow any merpeople to contact the human world because of what happened." He answered.

I wanted to ask more questions, but I left it at that. My father was the Sorcerer of the Pridelands, and I was to be his successor, once Mufasa had matured and was ready to become the next Lion King.

Days had turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, and months to years, and soon I had forgotten about the whole thing. I had school, acting roles, training to be the next Sorcerer and in the Mystic Arts, and loads of studying Wizardry at Hogwarts in the mix of all things, where at 11 years old, I had been sorted into Ravenclaw. I had forgotten about Ariel, the mermen and mermaids...

Until I was sixteen, still an apprentice Sorcerer, and my father and I had to help Ariel restore music to the kingdom, and help King Triton heal from the past. So far, he hadn't suspected anything yet.

A year later, I had become the new Sorcerer of the Pridelands, while Mufasa had been crowned the new King. In fact, Atlantica was my very first mission after a year of being absent from it, and quite a long decade of staying away entirely due to Triton's immense hatred of humans.

This is how I became the Sorcerer I was meant to be...
