TW: Mention of overdose and suicide also talk about murder
Mayte woke up and looked around. She saw that she was in the hospital and saw that William was next to her. She tried to gently shake William awake. He felt it and woke up. He smiled and saw that she was okay and called the doctors in the room. They came in and did a check up on her before leaving them alone. Mayte was confused on why she was at the hospital.
Mayte: why am I in the hospital and where is mom
William: you tried overdosing and mom is away out of town
Mayte: oh I don't remember any of that
William: want me to call Daya and tell her that you are awake
Mayte: who is Daya
William: you know the girl next door aka your best friend
Mayte: I don't have any best friends besides Wilbur be he no longer talks to me since we moved away
William: look do you atleast remember Grayson
Mayte: no
William: okay I will be right back
William leave the room into the waiting room and starts calling his mom. She doesn't answer so he trys again but still no answer. He gives up and calls Daya. Daya picks up the phone but was a little hesitant to pick up the phone since the fight last night.
Daya: hello?
William: hey daya, Mayte is awake but she doesn't remember anything from this past week
Daya gasps which cause William attention but Daya hangs up the phone before he can say anything. Daya knew that Mayte was happy so why would she try to overdose. It all made sense to her now. She wanted to forget helping Daya hide the body. She wanted to have a normal life and she was getting it. Daya didn't want to see Mayte incase her memory of the murder was brought back but she needed to see Mayte. She rushed to the hospital as fast as she could. When she got there she saw Mayte and William barely walking out. She ran up to them.
Mayte: omg Daya, I remember you know
Daya: okay so does that mean you remember code 13
*code 13 was a code that they used when they needed to talk about the murder*
Mayte: no I don't, sadly I don't remember any of our memories from atleast 2-3 days ago
William: I talked with her a bit and got her some memory back but the memory loss from 2-3 days ago is pretty permanent
Daya sighed a relief but was also mad because she needed Mayte to help her with more. Ever since Daya killed Julia she craved to avenge her younger self that got hurt by everyone and she trusted Mayte but there was no way to get her memory back so there was no luck.
They all got into Williams car and they drove to the park. They get off and sit at a bench.
William: Mayte me and Daya need to tell you something
Mayte: what do you need to tell me
William: well.....
