The next day y/n was relieved to see Akaashi back in school again. She immediately gave him a hug, not noticing the way that Akaashi held her a little longer than usual.

But that wasn't the end of his odd behaviours. He seemed happier today; you'd think going through a rejection then a cold back to back would've made him less chipper. But the most notable of all was the way he wouldn't stop trying to talk to y/n.

From offering to carry her books when they went to class, to holding the door open and pulling out her chair for her. It was weird for sure, but she had to admit she liked it.

Still, she didn't think much of it. She knew how kind Akaashi was, so she dubbed his new mannerisms as him trying to express his gratitude for what she'd done.

She wasn't going to overthink his gesture and end up getting hurt by giving herself false hope. Besides, she'd already made up her mind to back off from him.

Konoha was the second person he was weird with. She'd caught them whispering to gathering and exchanging weird looks whenever they thought she wasn't looking.

Of course, she could just be overreacting. But curiosity got the better of her and she decided it was at least worth asking about it.

"What's up with you two," y/n discreetly asked Konoha as they went to the cafeteria alone yet again.

Bokuto still had his studies to focus on while Akaashi claimed he still had to see some teachers because of the work he missed.

"What do you mean?" He feigned cluelessness as he looked at the younger girl. She glared back. Or attempted to at least.
