Chapter 21: 1 secret tells 1 lie

"I'm right here you can stop yelling" a voice says behind me

I turned around to see her adjusting her dress and fixing her hair. Once she was all fixed up she walked over to me. I couldn't help wondering why she had this nervous look on her face. She kept running her hands through her hair every five seconds like something was wrong.

"Are you okay ?" I asked.

"Um not really but I have to tell you something very important and I need you to listen very closely" she said playing with her hands which was a very Skylar thing to do when she's nervous.

"Okay I'm listening" I said, taking a deep breath.

"I may have sort of done something that I shouldn't have" she begins.

I then nodded my head giving her the all clear to tell me what happened. She then took a deep breath in to calm herself down which was starting to make me nervous. Just when she was about to open her mouth to talk.

"Boo"

"Ah" I screamed.

I turned around to see the Con standing behind me with a playfully smirk on his face.

"What the hell! You could have given me a heart attack" I said, slapping him in the chest.

"Ow that hurt" he said running his chest.

"Maybe next time you'll think of saying hi instead of scaring people" I said rolling my eyes.

"Well hello and I were playing downstairs you should come and watch" he said happily.

"I would but me and Sky are leaving" I said.

"Is that so" he said, turning his attention to Skylar behind me.

She didn't say anything or even nod her head. She just looked defeated. I have never seen her like that before.

"Are you okay?" He said before I could.

Instead of saying anything she just walked past us with a sad expression on her. I watched her walk down the stairs and headed towards the bar and ordered water.

"What's wrong with her?" he asked.

"I don't know and I was meaning to ask you how did you know I was-" I stopped once my eyes caught the figure behind him

"Con is he up here we're on in-" he says but stops immediately once he sees me.

"Oh sorry I didn't mean to interrupt your conversation I was just looking for" He says before he gets interrupted.

"Sorry I was using the bathroom" he says adjusting his shirt.

"Oh okay well we have to go on" he says keeping his head down.

"Okay" Con says.

We all walked down stairs together in silence since it was really awkward. Once we reach the bottom stairs I realize Sky was not by the bar instead she was in the kitchen eating something.

"Maybe she was hungry, that's why she looked sad," I told myself.

"Oh I know you said you were leaving but you should stay to hear us play" Con said diverting my attention from Skylar to him.

"Well I.." I tried to think of a lie.

"It's a new song and you could have Skylar actually listen to it if you like it" he says.

"That's not a bad idea" a voice says behind me.

I turn around to see Joe standing behind along with James on his right and dean on his left.

"Okay I'll stay" I said while instantly feeling a form of guilt in my body.

"Really" Brad said, causing me to look at him, causing him to put his head back down.

"Just till the song is over then I'm going to check on Skylar" I said in my head.
