I know I have not written in this journal in a while, but I have been so busy. Madeleine and I have been seeing each other almost daily.
My mother is upset because I have not been around to care for my siblings during the day, and Madeleine's father is upset because she has not been helping with their farm as much. I have tried explaining it to my mother, but she does not understand.
She said that she will not let me see Madeleine anymore if I cannot manage my friendship and my responsibilities. She just does not understand, Madeleine says that parents never do. My heart aches when I go more than a day without seeing my dear Madeleine. I have no choice but to see her often, for the sake of my mental wellbeing and the health of my young heart.
Oh, diary, I am so very happy for my great friendship. This is like nothing I have felt before.
