Prologue.

The mortifying click that came from the shiny silver pistol had everyone in the room still. All of their eyes widening, watching me intently. Waiting for me to make my next move. But I didn't know if I could even make another move. I was just as terrified as everyone else, no matter how calm I looked. Not even my hand that was gripping the gun was shaking. I was as calm as mom's spaghetti.

    "Everly," Logan's smooth voiced warned, his hands up as he took a step towards me. He knew I wouldn't shoot him - that I couldn't shoot him. "Think about this, she's not worth going to jail for."

    Even though his voice was as smooth as butter I kept my eyes on her, not even blinking for fear that she would run and not pay for sins.

    "She ruined everything, took everything from me. Dying would be doing her favor." I half whisper, half saying to myself.

    "You're right." Alec agrees as he steps towards me, on the opposite side of Logan. "She's a terrible person, nothing could make up for what she did to you. But if you do this; if you shoot her, it'll be you in trouble. Not her. Don't do this to yourself."

    I gripped the gun tighter, not quite ready to give up yet. They didn't understand what I had gone through. Hadn't felt the pain I had to go through everyday because of this women. So I shook their words from my mind, this had to end. Because even if she ended up rotting in a jail cell for the rest of her pathetic life she would still be able to hurt me. I would still know she was breathing and I wouldn't allow that. She took everything from so I was going to take everything from her.

    My head shook on its own and the boys instantly took notice to it, sensing that I wasn't going to back down. But right as my finger squeezed the trigger in the slightest Logan's voice rang out once more.

    "Think about Lilly!" He shouted trying to get my attention. It worked. "Do you really think she would want this? She looked up to you Everly, don't let her down."

    I was hesitating, pulling my lip under my teeth as I thought about what I would do. I knew Lilly would have been upset, but that was the thing. She would have, past tense, not present. I was already killer, so one more wouldn't hurt.

I slimed sickeningly, glad this was all going to be over. My fear was gone, all reservations long fallen off the grid. So glanced at my boys, knowing far to well it would probably be the last time I saw them while I wasn't in a gaudy orange jumpsuit, said, "she has to die," and pulled the trigger.
