New friends maybe... Part two

NARUTO'S POV

We were all in a single file line as we went outside to P.E. I was honestly very curious to see how these kids would do. When I saw the training ground I was shocked, it was almost as big as the one I made for myself back at home in the forest. That's when I got even more interested.
What do you think Kurama? I asked.
Some of them might be exceptional for their age but remember they are still just kids so don't get too excited now.
You are probably right but I'm still curious.

"Ok, let's begin, " Iruka sensei shouted out, "when I call your name run through the obstacle course at your best speed."
"Hmph, if you do that kid you might destroy it entirely."
"Don't you think I know that already, " I chuckled.

"First up is Shino Aburame."
"Choji Akimichi."
A couple of names later...
"Sakura Haruno."
"Hinata Hyuga."
"Kiba Inuzuka."
"Shikamaru Nara."
A couple of names later again...
"Sasuke Uchiha."
"And finally Ino Yamanaka."
...
"Well shit you were right Kurama, I really shouldn't have gotten my expectations up. That was terrible. Some of them didn't even make it halfway. The only one that was kinda ok was Sasuke."
"I told you, also kid, they didn't call your name."
"Oh, your right."

"Excuse me, " I yelled out, "you didn't call my name."
"Oh sorry about that, your name isn't officially added in the chart yet, if you want to go you can but just know this won't be officially recorded, " Iruka sensei said while scratching the back of his head.
"No that's fine, I'll wait until my name is added, " I said with a tiny smile on my face.

The bell rings🔔
"Ok that's all for today's class, make sure you complete your homework and turn it in by tomorrow. Have a great rest of your day. Oh yeah and Naruto please stay after class so you can receive the work."

after everyone leaves...

When I walk up to Iruka he immediately bows down and greets me.
"Ah so he does know who I am, old man third must have told him about me coming here, " I thought to myself.
"Please, no need to bow, when I'm in class I'm just a regular student, " I told him with a grin on my face.
"Oh ok well then let me formally introduce myself, my name is Iruka Umino and I am a chunin that teaches here at this academy. It is an honor to make your acquaintance."
"Well as long as we are doing introductions, my name is Naruto Uzumaki and I am the Anbu Captain. Oh and by the way, when im wearing my mask call me fox, " I replied.
"Yes, sir I will."
He walked over to his desk and picks up a bunch of papers and hands them to me.
"You probably won't need this but this is just in case you want to know what we are doing in class, " he said
"Thanks, I'll look them over just in case, " I said as I stuffed it in my backpack.
"Well later Iruka Sensei, " I said walking out the door.

As I walked outside I see Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba all staring at me.
"What could they want, " I asked Kurama.
"The hell I know but here is a smart idea, you can ask them yourself because im trying to sleep, " Kurama yelled.
"Well geez sorry, you can continue with your nap, " I sighed.
"Yo Naruto, you got a second, " Kiba yelled out.
"Um sure do you guys need anything, " I questioned.
"Not really but since your new and stuff we wanted to talk to you, " Choji said while stuffing his face with chips.
"Yeah, and since you came in late this year catching up can become a drag, " Shikamaru yawned.
"Thanks a lot, " I smiled.
"Ruff ruff, " the dog barked.
"Oh, that's Akamaru and he said no problem, " Kiba laughed.
"Really well thanks to you too, " I told Akamaru.

I ended spending the whole day with them. It was more fun than I expected. Of course, I had to cast a genjutsu so the villagers didn't recognize me but they didn't seem to notice so everything turned out ok. But apparently, some people did notice.
