Mission to the Sand

ABOUT A MONTH LATER
"Kitsune(fox) your mission is as follows, " the Hokage ordered.
"You are to infiltrate the Village Hidden in the Sand and gather information about any potential coup d'etat."
"Ok but how long is this mission for because if I'm away from the academy for too long people might get suspicious, " I questioned.
"You will be gone for 2 weeks at most, but if push comes to shove I will send in an Anbu member disguised as you, so only worry about completing your mission. When you come back just say you were sick with a fever."
"Yes sir, " I said as I quickly shunshined away.

I teleported back to my home and quickly packed my clothes and weapons. I ate some ramen before I left so I wouldn't have to keep stopping for food breaks. Then finally I put on my mask and left when it became dark. The Village Hidden in the Sand was very far away. Any normal shinobi would take at least 3 days on foot. Well, thank God I'm not any normal shinobi. I was able to arrive in a day and a half. Oh and not to mention it was my first time coming here. As I pulled up to the border, I disguised myself as a normal citizen in the village. After years of putting on an act, you learn how to get in and out of places without ever getting noticed. When I walked around the village, I see that it is a lot different than the Village Hidden in the Leaves. I mean there was literally sand everywhere you look. Even though I live in the forest, I don't see a lot of leaves on the ground when I'm walking down the main street. I couldn't let that distract me though so I decided to find the nearest hotel so I can begin my investigation.

THREE DAYS LATER

"Man this sure is boring, " I thought to myself as I was spying on a Hidden Sand Anbu.
"Suck it up kid, there is seriously something suspicious going on and I have a very bad feeling about it, " Kurama growled.
"Of course there is something suspicious going on, that's why I was sent here in the first place, " I snapped back.
"No shit Sherlock, but I am not talking about that."
"Well then what are you talking about, is someone following me."
"I don't think so but that's not it either."
"Then what is it."
"I honestly don't know kid but trust me when I say you have to watch your back."
When he told me that I started to get a little more on edge. I mean what could be so important that even Kurama couldn't pinpoint it. What was I missing? I decided to go back to the hotel and look over all the evidence I had up till now. However, the only thing I found out was that the Hokage did not like to be seen. Also when I stumbled upon the Sand Anbu's file room I saw a weird snake logo on one of the files. I drew what it looked like on a scroll and left before anyone noticed. When I put the two together there was only one thing that I came up with. Orochimaru must be involved with the sand. He is the only one that I know who uses snakes. But why the sand, early the reports said he took refuge in the Village Hidden in Sound. There has to be something here that he wants. Something here that is powerful enough to destroy the leaf village. What can that possibly be? And that's when it hit me. Something powerful enough to destroy a whole village, that can only be one thing.
The sand has possession of a tailed beast.
"Huh, no wonder you were so on edge Kurama, it seems like one of your siblings is here in this village."
"And I have a pretty good idea of which one kid, Shukaku the one-tailed sand spirit."
"I see, but shouldn't you be able to detect one of your own kind."
"I can but that's only when I'm near them. Also considering that he is here and I can't sense him means that he is sealed inside another human."
"Wait another jinchuriki!"
"It certainly isn't all that rare kid, actually I would be surprised if we found a tailed beast that wasn't sealed inside a human."
"Wow, so there are others out there just like me."
"You are correct kid but back to the original topic, in order for me to tell you who has the tailed beast, you have to be right next to them or I won't be able to sense them."
"That sounds very troublesome."
"That's only half of it kid, if I can sense the jinchuriki, that means he can sense me too. If you are caught then the sand will know something is up and plan the coup de tat earlier. You won't be able to do anything about it and the leaf village won't be prepared so it will fall."
"Shit, this turned out to be one hell of a mission, literally."
"The best thing to as of now is to send this info back to the leaf and wait for further orders."
"Your right, I'm not so bold to continue this investigation without taking the precautionary steps first."

BACK IN THE LEAF VILLAGE

"Lord Third, I received a message from Kitsune, " an Anbu said.
"Ok thanks, give it here, " the Hokage replied.
As he read the letter he was stunned. He knew something was going on with the Sand but he never imagined it would be something this big.
"LISTEN I WANT TO HOLD AN EMERGENCY CONFERENCE MEETING. TELL THE ANBU HEADS AND THE CLAN LEADERS TO MAKE THEIR WAY HERE AT ONCE, " the Hokage yelled.
"Yes sir I will, " he said as he shunshined away.

AT THE CONFERENCE MEETING

"WHAT, " everyone yelled.
"Is the sand seriously planning a coup d'etat."
"And under the leadership of Orochimaru."
"Yes that is a possibility, but the real problem is that the sand has possession of a tailed beast and they could strike at any time, " Lord Third said while smoking his cigar.
"But we have a tailed beast of our own."
"Based on Kitsune's report and all the reports about Orochimaru, the Hidden Sand may be conspiring with the Hidden Sound, " Shikaku Nara said.
"You're right Shikaku, but for now we need to come up with a plan. As you already know Kitsune has infiltrated the sand and is awaiting further orders, " Lord Third said.
"I believe he needs to capture the jinchuriki and bring him back here, " Danzo stated.
"No, that will only cause an uproar, " one of the village elders said.
"But without the tailed beast, their plan will fail, " Danzo argued.

Then suddenly everyone burst out arguing with each other. It was chaos and nobody knew what to do.
"SILENCE, " the Hokage ordered.
"I will figure out what to do, all you guys need to do is stay alert and prepare for any upcoming battle."
"But Lord Third-"
"No buts your order is as follows, this meeting is dismissed."

BACK IN THE SAND VILLAGE

I was relaxing in my hotel room going over my scroll when a bird came flying through the window. It has a note attached to it.
"Well they sure took their sweet time, it's been 4 days since I sent that note, " I told Kurama.
"Based on the topic they probably spent days arguing about what to do, " Kurama chuckled.
"Yeah, I can imagine that."
Now let's see what my orders are.
