I finally snapped my attention back to class and worked vigorously to write down all the notes I had fallen behind on when I was spacing out before my teacher erased them from the board. I let out a sigh of relief when the final bell rang and stretched. I was done with school for the day.

It was the first term of my first year attending Ketsubutsu Academy and it was kicking my ass. I was so unused to school life without Mirio. I had only finished my first week of school and I had already had two emotional breakdowns. Ketsubutsu Hadn't even been my first choice. I obviously took the hero entrance exam for U.A. along with Mirio and had even applied for both the hero and general studies. Mirio got in but I failed. They did offer me a spot in the general studies program and I was considering it until Ketsubutsu reached out to me, offering me a spot in their hero course. It had been a grueling decision process. Mirio and I talked it over for hours and hours, but in the end, we both decided it was better for me to go to Ketsubutsu. I could learn what I actually wanted to learn, even if it meant going to a different school than him.

I was actually psyched when school ended today though because we had plans to hang out all weekend and talk about our hero courses. He had even offered to do training sessions with me every Sunday to assure I had as few disadvantages in comparison to the U.A. first years as possible!

I hurried to my locker to deposit my shoes before jogging all the way to the cafe where I was supposed to meet Mirio and Amajiki. When I finally screeched to a halt in front of the boys, I hunched over for a second to catch my breath.

"Geez, were you trying to get in an extra workout on the way over here?" Mirio commented.

I smiled and looked up to confront him but instead of Mirio's familiar eyes, I found a new pair staring back at me. It was a girl dressed in a U.A. uniform. She had long periwinkle hair and bright blue sparkling eyes. She was suuuuper pretty too. When Mirio noticed me staring, he quickly introduced her.

"Y/N, this is Nejire Hado! She's another U.A. first year like me! Hado, this is Y/N, the one I was telling you all about." he introduced us. Then he turned to me, "She's a really cool person and she's super strong! You wouldn't believe her skillz." he said, grinning from ear to ear.

"Awe, thanks Mirio! but he's over-exaggerating. I've still got a long way to go, just like everyone else!" she exclaimed.

"Either way, it's a pleasure to meet you, Hado." we shook hands, "Besides if Mirio says you're awesome, it must be true!" I reassured her.

"Now that the introductions are over, are you guys ready to head inside?" Mirio asked.

"Yes, please! I am starving." I replied.

"Me too! This gal needs a good meal to keep functioning." Hado conceded.

"I just want to go home..." added Amajiki.

"Ah, c'mon man! Aren't you hungry?" Mirio insisted.

"You know I always carry food on me." He replied, looking as if he was ready to leave at that very instant.

"Hey, how about we go grab some takoyaki instead?" I suggested.

Amajiki's eyes grew wide when I said that.

"No no! I mean, we should, uh, you shouldn't change your plans for me." he insisted.

"Takoyaki actually sounds pretty good," Hado interjected.

"Yeah, besides, I know you. You'd feel a lot more comfortable if you didn't have to stare at a menu to figure out what you want." I commented.

Although Amajiki and I aren't super great friends, I have picked up on a lot of his nervous tendencies over the years. I was just glad I was able to come up with a better option for him. I wanted him to feel comfortable.
