Dear friends,
Thank you all so much for stepping into the story I've woven you. I hope you have enjoyed your journey with Thisbe and Ella and all the others. More importantly, I hope you've seen truth in it-- the truth that not one of you needs to hide behind a veil. Not one of you.
I wrote this story for you. For you girls who look into the mirror and imagine imperfections. For you boys who have been taught you must look a certain way to be desirable. For those of you who are neither girls or boys (or both girls and boys), who also deserve a fairytale about the true beauty that lies within you.
Personally, I think that's why we tell stories, after all. To remind each other of truth. To remind each other of the beauty inside each of us. To keep each other from forgetting the magic of living.
For those of you who have left comments or voted on this story, you have no idea how much your support means to me. Storytelling is in my blood but it isn't always easy. I suspect many of you know this, because I suspect many of you are storytellers, too. There are days when I feel discouraged. But seeing your reactions to Thisbe's story, hearing about the parts you enjoyed, and knowing this story means something to you makes all the difference.
