F I F T Y - F I V E

The rest of the summer passed by relatively uneventful, especially compared to the weeks before.  The teenagers attempted to eavesdrop on every Order meeting with most of those missions being unsuccessful, and almost every other moment was spent cleaning out Grimmauld Place. Whenever she had free time, Adeline spent it in one of three places – in her room hanging out with Hermione and Ginny, in the twins' room with George and Fred as they worked on WWW products, or hiding away in the library with George.

Adeline admittedly hadn't gotten much sleep in those weeks. She managed to get a few small naps in and had even managed one full night of sleep where she thankfully wasn't awoken in a cold sweat, but it wasn't consistent. Adeline knew it wasn't healthy for her. She knew it was awful what she was doing to herself. But she was so terrified of the thought of having to face Ginny and Hermione – along with the rest of Grimmauld Place – about what she went through seemed so much worse.

Platform 9 and 3/4s as chaotic as usual as the Weasley family, along with Harry, Hermione, and Adeline, arrived. It was easier to navigate through than usual, however, as everyone seemed to steer away from the group when they saw them.

Adeline grinned when she spotted Estelle near the end of the platform, and nearly ran over to her like she usually did after summer holidays. But she stopped when she saw Estelle's parents standing next to her. The two met eyes, and while Estelle looked pained, she subtly shook her head and mouthed "I'll see you on the train."

She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see George grinning at her. "Want me to find a cabin?"

"As much as I'd love that," Adeline sighed before gesturing down to her the sweater of her Hogwarts uniform, which she already had on. "Head Girl duties. I've got to meet up with whoever the Head Boy is and we have to instruct all the prefects on what to do. Plus I'm probably going to end up with Estelle, Melanie, and Ophelia because I've barely been able to talk to them all summer."

"Guess you're stuck with Ronnie and Hermione," Fred said as he pushed his trunk through the crowd. "Hopefully you make it out of there without one of them strangling each other."

"I'll keep them from fighting–"

"You absolutely will not," Harry interjected with a shake of his head. "I've been trying for four years now. You won't be able to do it."

"Well that's reassuring," Adeline laughed. She then went up on her tip-toes to kiss George's cheek before saying, "I'll see you guys later, alright?"

She said goodbye to the Weasleys and made her way towards the prefect's cabin with Ron and Hermione close behind. When Adeline stepped into the cabin, she couldn't help but breath a small sigh of relief when she saw a certain Hufflepuff boy standing in the corner of the room with a Head Boy badge on.

Cedric grinned when he saw Adeline approaching him. "Hey!" He greeted enthusiastically, and his smile seemed to widen when he noticed the Head Girl badge on her. "I really hoped you'd be Head Girl because you're like the only person I trust to do this with me."

"I'm really happy you're Head Boy too," Adeline responded, and she wasn't lying. She had got along with Cedric for years, and she knew he would be incredible in the position. "Did you have a good holidays?"

"Alright," He shrugged. "Mum and Dad were so happy when I got my Hogwarts letter and the badge. Although, it wasn't the best because I wasn't able to see or even talk to Mel for months. I haven't heard anything from her since that first letter where she told me what was happening with her parents. Have you seen her yet?"
