The days passed slowly. Liz had been with him for eight hours every day since that day.
Next to the other guy who still loved to torment him.
Only someone else came who was silent and just kept him awake. According to Liz, today would have come the day.
All preparations were made.
"Today you are calm." As always, the man's voice gave him a shiver.
"Shall I break your fingers again?"
Damian opened his eyes and stared at the man above.
Whose face was completely hidden by the black hood. Only the evil grin on his lips was visible.
"If that makes you happy. The torments that Liz causes me cannot be dealt with by any broken bones."
It was a bluff, but an effective one, the man backed away.
Every time Liz came he screamed at the top of his throat, so that everyone had the feeling that she was torturing him mentally and physically.
"Oh and yet you don't hate the girl."
He felt his breath next to his ear now. "Maybe I should take care of her sometime. It's a cutie and she'd be harder to break than you. This little puppet."
The man's sleazy voice moved away from his ear and the figure reared up again in front of him.
"You monster, keep your hands off her!"
He yelled at the man and tried to tear himself away.
The loud, angry laugh of the man keeps across the room.
"I knew it."
The man chuckled and left the room. What was he going to do, he had to get out of here, Liz was in danger.
His breathing went faster and faster until he started to hyperventilate.
With all his strength he tugged at the shackles, he cried out for help at the top of his throat.
Until he felt the warm blood flow down his arms.
Shortly thereafter, he passed out with watery eyes.
If the guy grabbed Liz now, all would be lost.
"Damian wake up."
Someone shook him awake, the familiar voice startled him. How long had he been gone?
"Liz?"
"Yes."
He exhaled in relief and opened his eyes.
"It starts soon."
She said as she ran away, she was wearing the order's cloak.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw two figures wearing both coats. When a fourth person joined. Everyone came to him.
"Hey my friend."
Hearing Selim's voice was balm for his soul and he couldn't help but smile.
"Kim, do you have the key?"
That was clearly Aidan, all of his friends were there.
"Yes, of course. It was a breeze."
He felt his bonds loosen. Shortly afterwards, someone threw a cloth over him and picked him up.
"We'll fix you later. Shut up now."
Aidan ordered gruffly. He felt his comrade pick him up and run down the hall.
When he got to the stairs, he took several steps at a time without slowing down. When he reached the top he heard a familiar voice.
"Good luck, the other person will be back in five minutes. Until then you have to be out of sight."
"Thank you, Dad."
So even this one helped him, a few seconds later he felt Aidan laying him down.
A horse jerked and then a carriage drove off.
He heard the hooves of some horses around him. But even after a few minutes he did not dare to stand up. Only when he heard Liz's voice talking to someone. He slowly propped himself up on his elbow.
"Slowly."
Kim's voice was right next to him, but she slowly helped him to sit up.
"Why did you pull on the shackles like that. Idiot."
From his other side came the voice of Aidan.
"H-h-he said he was going to get Liz and break her."
His voice was cracked and hoarse from screaming and his eyes still blurred through the tears.
"He won't get Liz." Kim's calm voice made him breathe easy.
Yes, it was all good. He carefully moved his tense upper body back and forth and stretched his arms.
Then he hugged Aidan without warning. This wanted to loosen up first, until he apparently noticed his tears which were now flowing down his cheeks out of sheer relief.
He hugged his comrade as tightly as he could.
"You're such an idiot." Aidan said with a laugh and hugged him too. "Did you really think we'd let our comrade down?"
Damian just nodded and hugged Aidan even tighter than before.
Actually he still didn't like him, but he didn't care.
The luck to have finally escaped this hell, to have his people with him again and to never have to see this sleazy guy again were just overwhelming.
"Who is actually here?"
He pushed out between his clenched teeth.
"Our unit and your friends."
Said Kim and tried to detach him from Aidan to take care of his wounds.
Only slowly did he let go of Aidan and leaned against the wall of the carriage. "My friends?"
He asked confused as Kim began to clean the wounds.
In the second he looked forward to the coach box, which was covered by a cloth that was now pulled back.
"Don't say you forgot us?" Susy's unmistakable grin jumped at him and Josy actually sat next to her.
"You are here?", he looked at her puzzled before he smiled.
"That I would see you again, would not have occurred to me in the dream."
"Yeah, we didn't look bad either when Liz arrived and asked us for help."
Told Susy, scratching her ear.
"Exactly," confirmed a male voice outside of his field of vision. It could only be Yasar.
"While we're on the subject, how did you manage to get me out of there?"
