Santesh rushed inside the house, asking the cop to come with him. The cop was gleeful hoping that THEY'D GIVE SOME BUCKS.
but what happened inside the hall had put the whole family into shock.
Santesh butchered his friend's dad with a billhook.
and shouted "AMMAACHI Yae konnavann ivaehn" (translation: he was the one who killed granny) upeksha's dad came running inside holding santesh and calming him.
"How did you know?" echoed in the hall by both his mom and uncle.
He then searched his bag and showed his dad's diary, riffling the book and stopped at a certain page which titled, MOTHER'S MEMORIES written in bold, black letters.
it contained what santesh's granny said when she was in the hospital on the death bed.
according to the diary, she said 'the man who shot me and the other 32 others was a Srilankan cop, he looked tall and fat like a giant. he shouted that we should not have had entered their zone as we were Tamils. during the chaos, I REMOVED his metal badge before he started shooting....and the badge is in my coin purse, I can't read what's in it...probably the name of him in English'
santesh slowly raised and showed the metal badge:
And then pointed out the metal badge on the cop's body which read the same.
"And now they will be having 2 lifeless bodies buried in their backyard, PRETENDING TO BE INNOCENT, BECAUSE NO ONE'S GONNA KNOW"
