He started explaining how it happened: The day when he met his friend Mandigae, he said about the situation and asked him and his dad to help him to catch Meethan without evidence. His dad asked for a picture of Meethan, Santesh showed the picture which was on his dad's phone. The cop said that he was an assassin and it was possible to catch him and even encounter him. Santesh was also allowed in the searching of the Slayer. Both Kurunegala's cops and Jaffna's cops started the mission.
At first, they asked Santesh if he had any clue about his location. Santesh had no clue so they decided to trace his mobile number. He was nearby to the hotel where they stayed. It was an old, sabotaged building where the GPS tracker indicated that he was there. Cops entered the building taciturnly. It was a dead silence. San too went with them; he was a bit nervous as Meethan was an assassin. After reaching some distance, they heard the voice of a young man talking to someone on the phone about killing someone and demanded money.
The voice took them to the room. The voice got louder and louder as they went nearer. The cops did some hand signs indicating Meethan was there and asked San to move backward.
He was there with his backpack, laptop, and kinds of stuff. They entered in suddenly he took out the pistol he had in his pocket and pointed it over a cop! Other cops surrounded him even behind him with their pistol. San stood at one of a corner. His body was sweating in fear so he just closed his eyes. Suddenly, "pew" sounded from a pistol; San was nervous and didn't know from where the bullet shot. Slowly he opened his eyes, another bullet shot! Blood splattered everywhere. He realized that Meethan was the owner of the blood and noticed cops had a calm face.
AMBULANCE ARRIVED and a doctor from it came out and checked his pulse. HE WAS DEAD!! They sent his body for post-mortem.
Mandigae's dad found a diary in his backpack.
"08\04-To kill: Shyam - Time: 6:00 PM," was written on a page on his diary
"Wait, let me read further." San said and grabbed it from the cop.
"Yea! I did it. I KILLED MY FOE SHYAM. Today I will sleep peacefully. Before sleeping I'm gonna have big c" San read with a shaky voice, his face turned red and his eye dropped some tears.
"Man, WE SHOT HIM, don't weep", one of the cops said.
"We will take this diary as evidence even if this evidence does not work we can state it as a self-defence encounter or as an objectively reasonable fear of injury or death encounter against him." Mandigae's dad said.
"Thanks a lot, uncle" San said and came out of the place.
"THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED UPEK," he said when Upek's mom came in and asked them to sleep and she said excitedly that she had good news to tell them. Upek and San looked at each other as they both knew it already and Upeksha asked her mom was it about Meethan.
"Yes, but how do you know it?"
"Santesh told me", said Upeksha and went with mom to sleep in their room.
The next 2 days went too fast buying new jewels and other accessories for the grand wedding.
Chandhini looked like an angel in her wedding saree on the wedding day. People from many places gathered had fun talking to each other and all looked auspicious. Everything was alright. As usual, Upeksha rocked in her outfit. Her accessories matched the spirit of the event. Whereas Santesh was a little emotional sending his beloved sister to another home even though he knew it already. He prepared himself much to not to cry at her wedding but he couldn't control his tears. He hugged his sister for the last time and sent her with the groom.
Everyone returned to their places. Grandfather too came with them to Jaffna. Santesh and his mom were returning to their calm mind.
Days went by and Upeksha's summer holidays ended. Now she needs to go to her high school from middle school. Every day when she returns from school, she asks her grandfather to tell her about the grandmother but he denies. One day he agreed and started to tell her about the past history of his wife.
In an instance, a woman aged about 50 to 60 came inside the house without any indication or permission to come in and she stared at Upeksha's grandpa for a long time.
Unexpectedly, grandpa clutched his chest and fainted......................
