When I woke up, I had a huge headache and couldn't remember what happened. I looked around to see that I had been laying on an old couch in what looked like a an old warehouse. At one side of the room I saw a litter box, some cat pictures, and a lot of jewelry. There was a different part of the room with a ton of plants everywhere. In the corner of the room there was a whole bunch of weights and various workout equipment.
I stood up to get a better view of behind me as well. There was a spot littered with pictures of Hal! I brushed over the area with about a dozen outlets, wires, and devices, and saw the spot that brought it all back. The mismatched playing card themed decorations, the pie pans, and of course the extra bombs and mallets completely jogged my memory. My best friend was my greatest enemy!
I can't believe I didn't know! I if hadn't been so oblivious, I could have taught her to be a hero! How could I not have realized that her Joker phase was actually a sign that she was literally MADLY in love with the Joker?! I need to get out of this villain hangout and tell the girls! Wait where's my phone? Dead. I quietly started walking to the door when it burst open to show none other than Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and my former GBFF.
"Meow, look at what the cat dragged in" Catwoman purred as they blocked the way to the door I was pretty obviously about to leave through.
"Babsy-Wabsy! You're awake! Meet Catwoman and Poison Ivy, they're from Gotham too!" I looked at Harleen, well Harley, and stepped backward a bit.
"P-please don't hurt me" I could have easily gotten passed them to safety as Batgirl, but I was Babs Gordon right now, I was just a scared and helpless girl from Gotham. Secret Identities could be so annoying sometimes. Especially when I thought I was about to tell my best friend, but I was actually preparing to tell my enemy.
"Come on Babsy, we're not gonna hurt you! You're our special guest!" She came towards me but I once again backed up, secretly heading for the window I remembered seeing when I first woke up. "Babsy? What are ya doin'?" I had backed all the way up to the window and looked back to see how high up we were. Only a couple of stories, but only Batgirl could do what would be necessary to get to the bottom.
"Harleen, why are you doing this? I want to go home. I-I don't want to be friends with someone who does bad things for fun." She was caught off guard by this and I continued to think up how I would escape.
"But Babsy, you can join our fun and this can be your home! I can't let those other friends of yours change you anymore, soon you'll understand that we aren't the enemy here, they are." She reached out for a hug, but I leaned back. Oh no. Too far. I began falling out of the window, but before I reached the ground, something prickly caught my foot. I was lifted up by what appeared to be one of Poison Ivy's vines and pulled back through the window when I was wrapped even more by the vines.
"P-please! I don't want to be here! Harleen I thought you were good, but you're not and I just w-want to go home!" I was nearing tears because the vines were too tight and the thorns were digging into my skin, but I was struggling and trying to get out anyways.
"It's Harley right now. Hey Ivy, could you stop her from wrigglin' so much? She's gonna get cut by one of those thorns." Poison Ivy nodded and leaned over to kiss my cheek. Catwoman laughed a little when the kiss caused me to freeze in place due to the special lipstick and Harley just leaned over for a hug"
"Now we can be together forever and nobody's gonna take you away from me!" Harley Quinn said. What am I going to do now?
