“That was so beautiful!” Priya exclaimed. “I can’t believe this.”
“Well, believe it.” Aman said, kissing her softly. He took her hand and stood up. “Come on,” He said pulling to another part of the yacht.
“We’re not staying out here?” Priya asked.
“No…we need more privacy.” Aman smirked.
“What for?” Priya asked.
“You’ll see.” Aman answered.
He led her down some stairs into an interior part of the yacht. There was a luxurious living area with leather couches and a bar. Aman quickly walked through the living area straight to the very large, romantic bedroom. He felt a tug on his hand.
“Aman, I don’t…” Priya began. They had stopped walking and stood in the doorway of the bedroom.
“What’s wrong?” Aman asked, confused.
“What are we doing here?” Priya asked.
“We’re going to spend the night here. Isn’t it romantic?” Aman answered, gesturing to the dimmed lighting, king-size bed with silk sheets, and bucket of champagne resting on the bedside table.
“Yes, very, but I think we should go home.” Priya said.
Aman frowned. He turned to Priya, looking at her carefully.
“Why? Are you okay?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I just want to go home.” Priya said.
“You aren’t enjoying yourself?” Aman asked. He was so confused. He thought that Priya would want to stay on this yacht forever, and here she was trying to leave as soon as possible.
“I am! Aman, I loved your surprise.” Priya tried to console him. She could tell she was hurting his feelings, but she knew that once they got home, he would be happier than he’s ever been. She was sure of it!
“Why do you want to go home?” Aman said, the sadness apparent in his voice.
“I just…want to spend the night at home, not on a boat.” Priya knew she was hitting a soft spot. Aman hated when she referred to his precious yacht as a boat.
“There’s no need to be afraid, Priya. It’s not going to sink or anything while we’re asleep. Hell, we’re probably not even going to sleep tonight! And it’s a yacht, not a boat.” Aman explained. He was getting angry. He was feeling a mixture of anger and disappointment. He spent so much money and put so much effort into making tonight perfect, and all Priya wanted to do was go back home. He hadn’t prepared for this.
“I’m not afraid to spend the night here. I would just like to go home. It’s our anniversary, Aman. Shouldn’t I get whatever I want?” Priya said innocently.
Priya felt unappreciative, but she needed to convince Aman to take her home.
“You’re right. You should get whatever you want today. Let me just call the driver.” Aman said. He was no longer enthusiastic and sounded very stiff.
