chapter five: The secret society

Kayd was standing near the lake. KAYD!! I say with a loud voice but he was out of focused. Then I screamed again and he noticed. He came over and I told him...

me: Can I trust you

Kayd: um yes why?

me: I'm serious, can I trust you

Kayd: okay now you're scaring me, what's the matter

me: I can't tell you right now someone can be listening

Kayd: who would possibly be listening to our conversation in the middle of the woods

me: you wouldn't understand, it's complicated

Kayd: we'll you can trust me

me: I will tell you but not now at least not here

Kayd: you sound so tense chill a bit

me: follow me but promise you won't tell anyone

Kayd: yea yea

me: promise!

Kayd: okay, okay I promise

I run trough the woods in my house's direction. I remembered the shadows can't see what's happening in my room but my mom would never let me have a boy in my room I knew the only time I could do this was now 2 hours before she comes home from work. I run with Kayd right beside me until we finally arrive to my house. I climbed a tree and jumped from the tree to my window then I opened the door so Kayd could enter. Once we were at the safety of my room I closed the windows and the door so we could talk.

me: okay now we can talk

Kayd: what was so important that we had to run all the way to your house and up your room ?

me: I know this is going to sound crazy but I have this journal that talks about this things called the shadows. They sound like voices luring you and telling you stuff but they're actually lost souls and they came from the lake thing.

Kayd(sarcastically): wow you're not very good at explaining but I think I understand. Like do you hear those voices while you sleep too

me: ha ha very funny, im serious

Kayd: do your telling me this place is haunted

me: no, im telling you that this town has hidden meaning and lost souls

Kayd: so it haunted

me: no!

me:*takes out the journal* here take a look at this

Kayd: whoa that creepy, so you think this has something to do with you cause this kinds of things don't just happen to anyone? Maybe that why I meet you maybe I'm involved in this too

me: stop with the superstitions none of that is true

Kayd: well if this is true maybe that's true too

me: good point

Kayd: Maybe we should do some research

me: where are we going to get information like this?

Kayd: isn't your mom the new deputy maybe we can "pay her a visit" and steal some files

me: isn't that against the law

Kayd: come on, don't you want to uncover the truth

me: fine

After that conversation We locked the house and took a walk to the sheriff department. Once we got there I occupied my mom while Kayd snuck out the back. My mom was surprised I was here cause we were supposed to have lunch at the camp but I told her that we could leave the grounds at lunch and she totally fell for it. Anyway Kayd got a lot of files and we decided to go look at them back at my house since we had an hour left. while we were searching trough the file names there was one that got my eye and it was labeled Night Stars just like the club my mom used to be in high school. I started reading it and looks like some students from Glimerhead high (aka my moms high school) took a trip to this town because of its mysterious grounds and the origin of their secret society but some of the kids disappeared for no reason and no bodies were found. I thought that was just a club not a secret society. What kind of secret society? I'm really confused. Why did my mom chose to work here? Did she want to get her hands on these files? Why did some of them disappeared? I have so many questions and so little time.

I hear a car, my moms car. Kayd climbs out the window and I climbed behind him. Maybe they could noticed the files missing. Kayd decided it would be best to return them. I felt a sudden cringe, like someone was watching correction someone is watching not just anybody but the shadows. They're on to us I know they're here. Their following me, us. Now I put Kayd in danger. We sneak the files back and we return to campus I felt in my gut it was a bad idea to return the files. What if the shadows are looking at them now? What will they do with me? or worse what will they do with Kayd?
