Behind the shadows

chapter four: Camp boring

I woke up ready to go to summer camp I figured maybe I should write a journal or better yet draw a journal, a journal with all the pictures of the crazy thing going on. At least if I go to summer camp I will get out of this stupid four walls and think of something else for a change but I better be careful I don't want any trouble with the shadows. I took a shower then I headed downstairs to get my breakfast took my book bag and got in the car. My mom was going on and on about how I most obey everything the counselor said and to make friends and stuff. I tuned her out after a while and just listen to my mp3. It wasn't that far actually it was ten minutes away from my house. Finally a whole day away from the hell hole.

After I got out of the car I had to from a line to get in. It's kinda weird they had to take our identities like we were ex-prisoners. It was finally my turn. We had to fill a form promising to do some things but I wasnt paying attention then they took a blood sample and some head shots. When we were taking the blood samples mine had a bit of a mishap and the computer couldn't prosses it and the woman in charged had to go old school and just take a picture with a Polaroid camara. After all that fiasco they gave us this pamphlets which made no sense whatsoever so I just trew them in the garbage. Then we went into a screening room to watch a movie about a physic but it was boring so i just snuck out and sat near some trees and started to draw them in my journal since I love to draw. Then I saw something coming my way. I got a little worried thinking it was one of the shadows but it was just a boy, he was kinda cute in a mischievous kind of way. He had dirty blonde hair and chocolaty brown eyes which you just fall for anyway back to the story. He came up to me and we started talking.

him: man that was boring right

me: yea

him: are you from crystal academy?

me: no im actually new here and haven't enrolled in any school yet, you?

him: well you should go to that school, I go there.

him:*sits beside me*

me: why would I go to your school I don't even know your name.

him: oh yea sorry my name is Kayd. What's your name?

me: My name is Serena

Kayd: cool name sounds mystical

me: I know right it's kinda weird

Kayd: anyway wanna go for a walk

me: sure

While we were walking I wasnt really paying attention to what he was saying and more on everything around him. It is a very cold day I was basically shivering while we were walking well at least until he lended me his jacket. Then I noticed the lake, the lake that the journal was talking about "Recidivist", the lost souls that roam this town came out of that lake. He wanted to go for a swim but I stopped him. Somehow I felt like I could trust him like he wouldn't spill out my secrets but I couldn't talk to him here maybe somewhere else.
