Chapter 7. "I look gorgeous, to the point I got worried" - KDY
A week later without any communication. It was past 12am and Asahi texted Azuki.
Asahi: 🖖🏼 Azuki: 🙋🏻♀️ Asahi: u sleeping yet? Azuki: i'm about to, why? Asahi: can I call yu a bit? Azuki: okie
And Asahi video called Azuki, who was lying on bed about to sleep. "Moshi moshiiiiii" Azuki answered the call. Asahi was sitting on his chair. He ruffled his white blonde hair and stroked it backwards. Azuki saw it for the first time and she teased him in a mischievous manner: "Wowww who are youuuu you look so coolllll must be a celebrityyyy~"
The truth was, he looked gorgeous. He seemed tired but pleased.
"Thanks! We finished filming earlier and now I'm at home. I just want to brag before sleeping!" "Woaa the MV filming? How did it go?" Azuki was happy to hear the news.
Asahi put on his frog-eye headband. Holding the phone, he flopped down on his bed. Azuki smirked at him in a silly way, seeing how cute he was.
"Pretty cool! I can't tell u the details tho. Everyone was excited. I was just hot and tired."
Asahi lied on his bed, eyes half closed, but still smiling happily, one hand holding the phone and the other hand fixing his frog-eye headband while talking. Azuki saw that he had a black bracelet with a shining silver sun pendant on his wrist. She eagerly raved about the MV filming.
"I can't wait to see it!! How's everyone? Are they doing good? How about yu?"
Eyes closed, Asahi turned to lay on one side, weakly mumbled his answers to Azuki's questions, which slowly turned into incomprehensible noises. His hand holding the phone slowly rested on the bed. Azuki smiled and stopped talking. And he fell asleep with the video call still on.
Azuki stayed quiet to let him have his peace, looking at Asahi breathing steadily, as the peacefulness began to weigh on her eyelids as well.
Suddenly, Asahi mumbled wearily: "Soba.. ni.. ite..." (そばにいて - Stay by my side.)
Azuki opened her eyes, looking at Asahi with confusion. He was still sleeping like a baby. That was sleep-talking.

Her feelings were a mess. She didn't know what to do.
Her fluttering heart spoke her true feelings. Something more than just friendship. But her head told her that he would be an idol soon, a person of the public. They wouldn't be able to have a normal friendship. It may affect his career, even ruin it. She decided to say nothing and ended the video call.
