Chapter three: A midnight Call.

You just came out of a a long shower, and enjoying a refreshing drink on the balcony.

It was a beautiful night, The lights were  on, we could see the beautiful stars up to the sky, you felt a soft breeze in your hair, a perfect night for hopeless romantic like you are.

Suddenly, your phone began ringing, it was an unknown number, you picked it up and waited for someone to talk.

-"..Hello? its this Y/n?"

-" Yes it is..who is this?"

-" Its me,Koichi "

-" Koichi?! how did you get my number?"

-" im an inspector, it was easy to get your number "

You laugthed softly, and you heard his husky but surprisingly soothing laugh through the phone.

-" And why are you calling so late then?"

-" Late- what time is it?"

-" Its midnight "

-" Oh shi- Im sorry im hanging up-"

-" no, i..think i want to talk"

-" are you sure? isn't it a littel too late ?"

You laughed softly amd said with a amused tone.

-" I could ask you the same thing Koichi "

-" Ah..well..i dont have an excuse for that i guess "

-" Dont worry, but you owe me a cofe tomorow "

-" You got it "

You smiled softly, as you gazed into the sky and admired the shining stars.

-" Hey..Y/n?"

-" oui ?"

-" i wanted to know, how do you know French?"

-" It's because i'am french dummy, didn't you read that on the record that they gave you?"

-" i um.."

He cleared his throat and said with an embarassed voice.

-" i..threw it away."

you suddenly bursted into an uncontrollable laughter.

-" Why are you laughing!"

He said embarrassed.

-" Because it's funny! oh my god i didn't imagine that you were so stubborn "

-" W..well im that case, Stubborn is my middle name"

-" thats not true"

-" Yeah...but anyway i was wondering if...you could tell me a littel bit about you."

-" Well, ask me questions Inspector Zenigata "

You took a sip of your drink, as he calmly asked you.

-" For how many years are doing this job as a Detective "

-"  I'd say about 10 years now "

-" is it true that you never failed any case?"

-" Well i hate to drag about myself but yes "

-" Wow..i mean you clearly sound very competent..why did you become a detective?"

You remained silent a moment, thinking about the past hurt, the only reason you became a Detective was to find you parent's murderers, but you never could.

-"..actually..there is one case i never resolved"

-" What?"

-" Just know, that it is why i became i detective, i dont want to get too personal about it. "

-" Its okay, you don't have to tell me if you dont want too..but still, im here to listen if you need, okay?"

-"..Thank you, Koichi. "

-" D..Don't mention it"

You slowly took a sip of your drink, as you gazed into the splendid shining stars once again

-" Koichi "

-" Yes?"

-" The stars are beautiful...don't you think?"

He remained silent a moment, as if he lifted his head to the sky to take a look as well.

-"..Very beautiful"

-" Thank you for calling..it was nice "

-" N..no problem...i'll see you tomorrow i guess?

-" Dont forget my cofe "

-" i wont!"

Both of you laugthed for a moment, before finally saying to each other goodbyes and hanging up the call.

You are going to see him tomorrow..so why do you feel like you could have talked to him for hours and hours and never get bored of what he had to say.

You stood up and went back inside, the day has been long and you needed to sleep.
