***

My body jolted up as I awoke from yet another nightmare. Did it ever get easier? Never. But that was something I had made peace with years ago and I was okay with never understanding the extent of peaceful rest.

My past haunted me in my nightmares but that had become something I was accustomed to. I looked around the room, the one he had left me in, fortunately, it didn't seem like anyone had been in here since. I laid back into the bed wondering what I was supposed to do next.

Could I really make a run for it? Would I make it out alive? Did it matter? If Emilia was already dead I'd be doing this all for nothing.

The door creaked open, my eyes averted to the figure hiding behind the door, as he soon walked in.

Matteo.

"Hope you've had time to think this all over," He began as he pulled up a chair sitting in front of the bed.

I stayed quietly unable to form words.

He sighed as he laid back in the chair.

"This won't work if you don't cooperate" He explained.

I looked away from his gaze, I was so angry, upset and all of the above to say the least, he had traveled so far down memory lane I could no longer bury the stupid past back up again.

He took another agonizing breath. I could see the annoyance written on his face from the corner of my eyes.

And suddenly the nauseating feeling in my stomach appeared again, my eyes darted to the bathroom past him. I looked at him as his eyebrows furrowed, not understanding what exactly was written on my face.

I slid off the bed rushing to the bathroom, I could hear him walk fast behind me, falling on my knees I began to throw up in the toilet.

"Fuck" He cursed as he grabbed my hair holding it behind me. This out of all times, the timing of this just couldn't be more perfect.

Pathetic.

"What the fuck Leena, have you not been eating?" He asked annoyed but I could hear the worry laced in his voice. Despite barely knowing him it seemed like he did care for a split second there.

I stood up walking to the sink as washed out my mouth wiping it down with a towel. Closing my eyes I could feel his stare on me.

"Answer me Leena" he ordered,

"I wasn't hungry okay?" I replied agitated as I slid down the bathroom door with my head in my arms.

"So you've just been starving yourself?" He asked almost guilty.

"It's not starving yourself when you're not starving" I answered looking back up at him.

"Really?" He asked motioning towards everything that had just happened.

"I just want to be left alone," I begged, but I knew this would never make him leave.

"Well I can't have you starve yourself, I suppose ill just have to watch you eat from now on," He said to himself as if he was forming a plan.

"I don't need a babysitter" I answered annoyed and dumbfounded.

"Clearly" He sarcastically stated. I rolled my eyes walking away from him, I wasn't sure where to take this conversation anymore. He'd never listen to a word I say.

That never happened in a kidnapper story.

He stood up walking around my room to the door leaving as all I could hear was the door being slammed shut. I wanted to be happy that he left, but no doubt I was starving. Maybe lying wasn't the best approach to this situation.
