Loki's POV:

Whilst getting lectured by Thor about why encouraging Ivory to fight I got bored, so I turned away from him. That's when I see how pale and tired Ivory looks. Before I could get to her I saw her collapse to the floor, I ran over in a panic checking her pulse, breathing and heart. They sounded a lot weaker than they should be. I picked her up and teleported us to my room. I wasn't thinking logically enough to bring her to her room. I could hear my brother running down the hall, god he is loud. I laid her on my bed and wet a clothe and placed it on her forehead as she was burning up, then sat beside her. As I thought he would Thor swung open the doors and rushed over to the bed, "Is she okay brother?" I shake my head. "We may not have the half a year we thought we might've had. It's eating away at her. I..."I hide my face in my hands not wanting to think about her condition worsening. Thor placed his hand on my shoulder in an attempt to cheer me up, in return I swat his hand away. "What did she ever do wrong?! She never deserved any of this! She's barely 17 and she's about to die but acts like everything is okay- I don't understand her..."

I hear a soft chuckle from beside me "...I knew you cared..." I feel myself ease up "Hey little bird...How are you feeling?" She gives me that 'really?' face and chuckles "Yeah I'm doing fantastic! How are things going on your end?" I feel her forehead checking if she's cooled down at all. She was still pretty warm. "I thought being sarcastic was my thing?" I raise an eyebrow smirking. Ivory weakly shoves my arm "Mine now" I sigh and shake my head. "It's late, why don't you sleep?" She nods and cuddles my arm which was still on her forehead. Guess I'm stuck now. I carefully move to position myself beside her and summon a book to read. I didn't sleep in case something happened and her conditioned worsened.

I hadn't even noticed but the sun had risen and it was early morning. I close my book and place it on the bedside table, then proceed to free myself from Ivory's clutches and replace my arm with a pillow. Ivory shuffles a little bit from me leaving but quickly settles into place, I take this as my chance to leave. As soon as I open the door I'm met with mother. "Ah..Aren't you up a little earlier than usual my child?" Her smile is as radiant as ever. "I suppose I am. I didn't even realise it was morning until a few moments ago." She looks at me with a questioning look, "I've been looking after Ivory throughout the night." She gently claps her hands together "Ah I see but why did you leave you room. Isn't her chambers beside yours?" I rub the back of my neck, how do I explain this without her thinking I'm in a relationship with her. "Well you see...When she fainted yesterday I brought her to my room without thinking. I was worried so I stayed beside her. Plus she kind of grabbed my arm and would let go.." I could practically see her cheering me on with the look she gave me. Damn it.

"Anyways mother why are you here?" "Oh right! I wanted to meet your lady friend, you seemed awfully busy meeting everyone yesterday so I waited to meet her." I sigh and open my door for her to enter my chambers. Mother very happily scurries in. "So this is her?" She seats herself on one of the chairs by my bed, "Yes." I sit beside Ivory on the bed and tuck a bit of stray hair behind her ears. "So how'd you meet?" God here we go. "Do I have to mother?" Without missing a beat she grins "Yes. Most definitely." I make myself comfortable and start explaining how we met and her getting kidnapped, then her disappearance along with us making cookies and all the other things we did together. Her facial expressions changed on each part I told, it was obvious how upset she was at points. Once I finish she cups my face and smiles "I'm glad you finally found your special someone." I tilt my head "Mother what are you implying?" She giggles, "Don't worry about it my dear... By the way did you ever think of asking your father to have her become an Asgardian? Our immune systems are incredibly strong and we can fight off any illness no matter how strong. It would probably heal her illness too." I look over to Ivory sleeping peacefully, "But isn't the cancer too far along? And isn't the process painful to become an Asgardian?" She nods, "It can be painful but if she's as strong as you say she is I have no doubt that she'll get through the pain and come out on top."

We continue to talk for a while longer, then we hear groans and shuffling "Looks like she's waking up my dear." I roll my eyes and turn to face Ivory. "How are you feeling little bird?" She sits up and leans on my shoulder, "Like Fandral threw me into a wall" She chuckles, "Yes I do recall that happening. Otherwise how do you feel?" "Pretty good."
