Shoto Todoroki.

He wasn't the most expressive person you would ever meet.

Quite far from it.

He learned growing up that to show expression was to provide satisfaction to his father-excuse me, flaming pile of trash sperm donor.

Therefore, he wasn't the most responsive towards conversations with said person.

Not being very receptive towards those conversations meant that they never really had the talk about sex, or love, or anything like that. The actual conversation went like this.

"Shoto, you're a boy and if you get in a relationship, it's the girl you're going to marry....Shoto? Shoto! Where do you think you're going?"

Todoroki had left the room by that point.

That was how most conversations went anyways.

But back to the problem at hand.

He didn't really know much about love, except from his siblings. And even they didn't know that much. Natsuo was more focused on his career, and Fuyumi was more focused on trying to keep the peace and work towards becoming a teacher. So they weren't really much help.

And that led him to the issue he's in right now.

It was an ordinary day at UA.

That was fine.

Problem was, inside the classroom, and since dorms were instituted, there as well, he had to deal with a feeling in his chest that he didn't quite know how to explain.

It started when he noticed how nice Midoriya looked when his shirt ripped.

And how his eyes began to follow Yaoyorozu as she walked through the room.

And how with Sero, whenever they were around, he smiled a bit, in his own way.

And he didn't know what to do about that.

His stomach made these weird...flutters?

And he felt happy.

It wasn't just them.

It was multiple people in the class.

But he seemed to find attraction to them all.

It didn't seem to matter who they were, there was just something about them.

Somehow all the attractive people ended up in his class.

It made it difficult to focus when they were talking, but at the same time you wanted to listen to every word that came out of their mouth.

Interacting with people was already hard enough.

Now he was perfectly content with watching them and not saying a word.

He didn't want to sound like a creep.

But at the same time. He's pretty sure he had at least a dozen crushes at this point?

Just getting up in the morning, he's almost always faced with one.

And then Aizawa's secret love child showed up.

There was another one.

So in conclusion, he had a crush on half his class, and he didn't know why.

They all just had something special that he couldn't find in anyone else.

It's not like he was gonna confess to any of them.

He has no idea how to do that.

It wasn't part of training.

He picked up some books to try to understand.

The books kind of made it seem scientific.

He tried to copy the poses in the books, but they felt extremely awkward and he did not want to be even more awkward than he already was in front of them.

In the past, it has worked for him to simply observe and then make decisions rationally based on that.

And while the information in the books did help to increase his knowledge somewhat, it did not help him in actually going through the process. Maybe he needs to read more books on that subject.

In the meantime, he would simply observe.

He would watch, and he would learn.

And maybe one day, he'd actually manage to say more than Hello.
