I was hosed down. My prep team included Zane, he had blue hair and silver eyes. He was leader as it seems, constantly giving commands. Then Metra, she was quiet with blond hair and red eyes. Then Sora, she was the kindest. Very talkative and cheery, her eyes were golden and her hair was pink. Eventually Sora announced,

"Time for you to meet your stylist, Erin."I went into a room. A woman sat on a stool. She was young, looked to be twenty. Her hair was long, flat and blond. She had silver eyeshadow and pale rose lipstick. She frowned at me,

"I'm Erin. You?"

"Katherine Hawthorne."

"Alright. So, since you're daughter of Katniss, I'm thinking of doing a Mockingjay outfit. What do you think?" I nodded in response. I was changed into a gray dress and a black leather jacket. With black lace up boots. Then I wore fake Mockingjay wings. Suddenly the wings went on blue flame. My hair was in a braid and then a fake sheath of arrows. Cole came out to the Chariot, dressed in a flaming grey suit. He smiled,"Whoa."

"Nice suit."I replied. The chariot started and I took his hand, bringing it into the air. The crowd cheered as I searched for my parents. I saw them in the stands, cheering yet crying. I waved, tears rolling down my cheek. I reached the circle in front of President Coin. I heard that my mother had killed President Snow long ago.

"Welcome, tributes! I wish you luck. Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favour!"She said, then dismissed us. I went back inside, and into the elevator. Before I could step in, something grabbed my quiver and turned me around. I was facing a muscular blond boy. He towered over me.

"I'm getting you first, Twelve."He growled. I stepped back, scared.

"What? Why?"

"You're mom killed my uncle. Uncle Cato. "He pushed past me, taking the stairs. I stepped into the elevator, shaking as I pushed the '12' button. Soon, I made it to the penthouse. I showered and got dressed. I went into the dining room for dinner. There was lamb stew and rolls. A warm milk to drink.

"Was that your parents, Katherine?" Cole asked. I nodded, spooning the stew into my mouth. I ate fast, skipping dessert. I went to bed, but sobbed until I fell asleep.

I woke the next morning. I showered and changed into black yoga pants and a black v-neck tee shirt. I laced up my black boots and headed into the training room. Meira explains the rules before we're dismissed to train. I look around for an activity. I spot a bow station, which I go too. I usually hunt with my mom and dad. I swing a quiver over my shoulder and nock an arrow into the bow.I go into stance and anchor the draw string. I am at the chest of the dummy and let the arrow fly at the target. I close my eyes until I hear the sound of it meeting the target. I open my eyes and see the arrow lodged into the dummy's chest. I hear clapping from a single set of hands. I turn to see a young, thin, short redhead girl. She smiles and sticks out her hand, "I'm Elaine Quinton. Age Fifteen. District Eight. You are?"

"Nice to meet you, Elaine. I'm Katherine Hawthorne, age fifteen, district twelve."I reply.

"Nice to meet you as well. I see you're good with the bow? I'm only great with camouflage."She explains.

"I can teach you the bow, if you'd like?" I offer. She nods and I show her exactly how. She shoots her first arrow and it hits the mat behind the dummy. She frowns,

"It's okay. My mother, Katniss, is an amazing hunter. I'm sure that she had a hard time at first too."I comforted. She smiled. As if she weren't paying attention to the point, changes the subject, "Your mother is Katniss Everdeen!?"

"Well, yes. But Katniss Hawthorne now..."I say.

"Right. Well, let's try again."She nocked her bow and went into stance. She aimed and shot the arm. She sighed again but loaded the bow. This time the eye. She let out an awkward giggle and nocked the bow again. She hit the torso finally.

"Yes!"She screamed and did what I assume is her Happy Dance. I laughed with her.

"Thank you so much, Katherine!"

"No problem."I mumbled.

"Do you want to... maybe... ally?"She shyly asked. Should I? She seemed awkward yet so kind and funny. She did seem pretty trustworthy to me. I shook her hand,

"Sure."

"Yay!"She squealed. I spotted District Two boy across the room, staring at me for quite some time. I rolled my eyes and he shook his head. Note to self- District Two Boy Hates Me.

Eventually, lunch came. I headed to the penthouse for ham and cheese on croissants. Cole sat beside me. It was only me and him.

"Where is everyone?"I asked.

"Effie is shopping, the stylists are designing and I don't know about Sahara-"

"Were you guys just talking about me?"A voice came from the elevator, in came Sahara.

"Oh, hey, Sahara."I greeted. She wore skinny jeans, grey fabric flats, and a white sweater. Her long, flat black hair was in a low ponytail. She sat down in front of us.

"Hey, kid. How was training?"She asked. Cole and I exchanged looks,

"Great, made an ally!"We both managed to say at the same time.

"Who?"Said Sahara.

"Elaine Quinton, district eight."I said.

"And I have Miles Watson from district ten. "

"Nice, guys. I was with the careers."Sahara bragged.

"But your district twelve."I noted.

"Yes, but I received a ten. That and I was as good and fierce as they were. I used knives as good as walking."She somehow made me think of Johanna Mason. I couldn't keep it in,I had to know.

"Were you somehow related to Johanna Mason?"I wondered.

"Ugh, no. I hate her."She wrinkled her nose .

I finished eating and went back to training. I walked in on the district two boy pushing Elaine down, the other careers laughed around her. I jumped in and punched the district two boy hard in the gut. He coughed and pushed me down. I smacked his face before he punched me in the ear. Elaine grabbed my wrist, dragging me away from danger.

"Leave her alone, Brock!"Coles voice boomed from the hallway. Cole came in and swung a punch at him, but didn't do harm. He ran to me and examined my ear,

"You alright, Kate?"He cried. I nodded even though my ear was in pain. I headed to a nearby bathroom and stood before a mirror. I examined the bruise around my ear. I shrugged and headed to training. I found Elaine shooting arrows.

"Hey, Katherine. You alright?"She quickly hugged me.

"Yeah, I'm fine."I lied, shooting lousy arrows. Soon, training was over... Brock is my target...
