An Eye For An Eye

"As all of you may know, an intoxicated Misaki  intended to bring harm to both [Name]-sama and Emi-san tonight at the wedding reception. At the last minute, Tatsuo-kun sacrificed his well-being for the sake of [Name]-sama after she pushed Emi-san away to safety. It is our job now to find a punishment suitable for her crime." stated an elder with his hands folded neatly in front of him.

[Name] turned to the elder and focused her attention on him. "Where is Misaki currently being held at?"

"We are holding her in one of the prison chambers underneath the grounds of the Uchiha compound, and she'll be under the watchful eyes of the prison guards." he answered.

"Hikaku, what are Tatsuo's conditions as of now?" inquired Madara.

A man wearing a purple Uchiha high-collared shirt with his brown hair in a ponytail cleared his throat with a cough, and glanced over at the Uchiha clan leader with a serious face.

"From Tatsuo's recent medical report, it has been concluded that he has deep cuts around his face from the shattered glass of the sake bottle. It is very possible for those wounds to become scars. Tatsuo also has a mild concussion, but he is stabilized. He is also blind in his left eye now, and he will never be able to use his Sharingan in that eye ever again."

A few of the council members and elders gasped at the devastating news, and some shook their head in pity. Tatsuo had always been a liable and strong shinobi for the Uchiha clan, and he was now disabled from using his unqiue kekkai genkai.

"No...it can't be..." murmured [Name]. Izuna squeezed her hand in comfort and frowned at his wife's worried face. He could see the guilt washing all over her face. 

"Now that we know of his conditions, we can now decide a suitable punishment for Misaki. Are there any suggestions?" asked Madara.

The room was quiet for awhile before [Name] spoke up. "Keep her in her cell for ten years, and give one of her eyes to Tatsuo." 

"Ten years and one of her eyes? [Name], doesn't that seem a bit excessive?" asked Izuna. 

[Name] held a composed facial expression and looked straight ahead at the council members. She was determined to bring justice for Tatsuo.

"It is not excessive since Tatsuo wasn't the only one harmed in this situation. Tatsuo is my dear friend and a great shinobi. It's only fair that he receives one of Misaki's eyes. I have never seen Misaki go off to war like the rest of us, and it's a waste to have her keep her Sharingan. Also, due to Misaki's reckless actions, Emi-san and Hideo-san's wedding night was ruined. I won't let her get away with it."

Suddenly, a man around his late 40's stood up from his seat and stomped his foot on the floor. [Name] furrowed her eyebrows as the elderly man looked at her with a menacing glare.

"[Name]-sama, I understand that you are our second-in-command leader's wife, but I disagree with your suggested punishment for Misaki! Can't you show some mercy to my poor niece? Why, she had a poor upbringing as a child, and she lacked a fatherly figure. Surely you can show some sympathy towards her and her mother!"

"Haven't you heard of the saying, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth'? I will not show any sympathy for her, and her past is not relevant to this issue, as well. If she hadn't been so rash with her actions, I might have been a bit more merciful towards her too. However, that isn't what the case is. Madara Aniue-sama, may you please consider my suggestion?"

Before Madara could answer [Name], the old man crossed his arms and shouted, "How could you be such a ruthless and cold-hearted person?! An outsider like you would never understand the things that Misaki went through! If it wasn't for your father's desperate need for an alliance with the Uchiha clan, you wouldn't even be here!"
