Five years have passed since Izuna's death, and the formation of Konohagakure became a success for both the Uchiha and Senju clans. The new shinobi village was a peaceful place to raise children, and although there were still wars raging on, children were no longer sacrificed on the battlefields.
"Now Takumi, you stay here and play nicely with the other children today. I have some errands to do, so I will come and fetch you as soon as I finish them." said [Name] as she kissed her five-year-old son's forehead.
Takumi pouted and crossed his little arms as his twenty-nine-year-old mother patted his head affectionately.
"Okaa-san*, why don't I have an Otou-san* like everyone else?" he asked through his pout.
[Name] knelt down to talk to her son on his level, and she cupped both of his cheeks in her hands.
"You have an Otou-san like everyone else, my precious Takumi. You will see him one day, but for now, you must be a good boy for me. Okay?" she said with a bright smile.
"Fine...I love you, Okaa-san." Takumi planted a kiss on his mother's cheek before running off to play with his friends at the daycare.
Young Takumi looked just like Izuna when he was a child, but he possessed his mother's lips and the shape of her eyes. Other than that, many of the Uchiha clansmen have said that Takumi was the spitting image of Izuna, much to [Name]'s delight.
When Takumi was born, Madara was the first person to hold him in his arms. In Madara's eyes, he saw Izuna within the child, and this added more fuel to his Curse of Hatred and desire to create the perfect and idealistic world. Before he left the village and the clan, he made [Name] swore to him that she would never leave for the battlefields because her new duty was to watch over and protect Takumi from harm. Since then, [Name] had been living fine with her son because he was her ultimate reason to live on.
On this sunny day, [Name] took a pleasurable walk around the village and listened to the sounds and chatter of the villagers. While she was looking at some sweet treats to buy for her son, she felt someone tapping on her shoulder repeatedly.
"Eh? Tatsuo-kun, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be reporting to Hokage-sama?" she inquired as she turned around to face him.
Tatsuo merely smirked as he shook his head to answer her question. "I've already reported to him, and my duties for the day are done too. Mind if I accompany you for today?"
"Yes, you may. You can help me carry the vegetables that I plan to buy today." she responded as she turned back to look at the treats.
"Uchiha [Name], you're lucky that you're still a pretty girl. Even the Senju clansmen have said that they wouldn't mind carrying all of your bags around all day," he playfully voiced out.
[Name] clicked her tongue and shook her head at her friend's silly words. "Nonsense, I don't want them to do any favors for me. I have been an independent woman for a long time now, and I don't need help from any of them."
"Do you hold a grudge against them for what Tobirama-sama did to Izuna-sama?" he asked as he peeked over her shoulder to look at the treats.
[Name] held her breath and froze in her place. She didn't hold a grudge against them, but rather, she held one for their second-in-command leader, Tobirama Senju.
"Alright, I'll wait until you are done with your errands. Then we can discuss about your feelings later." Tatsuo said, as he stood beside her and asked the shopkeeper for a bag of red-bean mochi.
In a nearby garden of the village, [Name] and Tatsuo were sitting on a stone bench with the grocery bags at their feet. They have been shopping for hours, and Tatsuo wanted to show her the new garden built by the Uchiha clan. He sighed as a cool breeze blew his ebony hair, and he looked up at the sky to admire its crystal blue color. [Name] sat up straight in her seat and breathed in deeply.
