Mackenzie was lying on the hammock writing in her song book, and she was struggling. Johnathan had made his way down towards the children, who were playing basketball together, leaving her to concentrate on her music.

Mackenzie had always been able to write about her feelings, because all she normally felt was loneliness and sadness, but now that Johnathan had entered her life many new feelings had arrived, and she had no clue how to understand or even communicate them.

How to write about falling for someone? This was the question stuck in her head. She knew they had only admitted to liking each other a few hours ago but, she had never felt this way before, it truly was like love at first sight, and she was falling, quickly.

Mackenzie always believed someday she'd met the one. Yes, the one from all the fairytales, her true love, her soulmate. Truthfully she felt that she had found this in Johnathan. But now the challenge was to write a song about it as she had no idea how to express it in words, so she thought why not write it in a song, the way she had always communicated her thoughts and feelings.

Songwriting had always been how Mackenzie expressed herself, like how people write poetry and love stories, songwriting was her storytelling. And she wanted to tell the world her story, no matter what she wished to achieve it. She was always looking for a challenge or puzzle that she could solve, showing her songs to others and writing about her emotions would be solving her biggest challenge.

Mackenzie looked down to the basketball court, Johnathan had the ball held above his head away from the reaching hands of Charlotte and Andre, before he bounced it, accidentally giving it off to Charlotte, who ended up scoring, making Mackenzie smile at how he treated younger children.

Johnathan had the biggest smile on his face, he was enjoying spending time with the younger children. His hair flying with the wind, and his eyes sparkling with joy.

He looked up towards the lake house, to the hammock, where he spotted the girl laying, their eyes connecting, they both smiled towards each other, before she turned away blushing at the fact she had been caught staring.

Mackenzie looked towards the lake and saw her youngest brother, Keithie, holding a rock looking towards the lake as if he was going to throw it. But he turned away and dropped the rock.

"What are you doing dressed like that? You hanging out with Jiminy Cricket?" Mackenzie heard her father, Lenny say.

Mackenzie turned and saw her brother dressed in a white patterned t-shirt, with weird looking trousers and a black fedora.

"We were supposed to be going
to Milan, remember?" Greg replied, shrugging his shoulders mockingly. "That's what I packed for."

"That is not how a normal teenager dresses Greg," Mackenzie said, her eyebrows were raised showing her disapproval of Greg's outfit choice.

Greg rolled his eyes at her comment and turned back to their father.

"Just cut those into shorts," Lenny said, attempting to get his son into agreement.
