Hizashi could barely keep his eyes off the clock. Nezu had given him the afternoon off since the man would not survive teaching a lesson when Silver could call any minute. Well, not Silver, her friend AG who Hizashi had never met, but AG would be able to tell them that Silver was ok because he was with her and Hitoshi, so it would all be ok.

Hizashi just had to survive this morning.

Three English lessons plus a free period. Easy as pie in theory. Unfortunately, theory and practice were two very different things and Silver's call, which should have been received while Hizashi was pacing the teacher's lounge alone in wait for said call hours in the future, ended up coming in about five minutes before first period. The number was unfamiliar, he'd figured it was nothing, a cold call or maybe something to do with work, he never imagined Silver's call would come early.

"Heyo, Present Mic on the line!"

He heard a snort on the other end and somebody closer to the phone cleared their throat. "Um, Pa this is AG."

See, if the call had come when he'd expected it, he would never have answered the phone like that. "Oh, right, are- Is everyone alright?" This was a lot early. If it was a lot early, that could mean there was a plan to get the kids back to the school early. Silver could be back by this afternoon instead of the evening!

The silence on the other end of the line had his stomach in coils. "We're good here. There's just been a change of plans."

Or maybe something had gone wrong. Maybe Hitoshi was hurt, or Mayor Suzuki had quietly told police officers to hunt Silver too, maybe she got caught.

"Me and Kaori found our IDs, sorry for making you guys go on a wild goose chase for them."

"Oh." But AG had asked about the fake IDs in order to get past the mile perimeter. They must've figured out another way to get past. "Well, no worries. Is there anything we can do to help? Me or-" Aizawa told him yesterday that AG had been calling them Dad and Pa, they'd assumed it was because they were around other people who might listen in or concerned about people watching the phones of UA's staff, so it was best to play along with the unorthodox codenames- "Dad could pick you up?" Hizashi silently prayed AG would agree to that.

Hizashi tapped his foot against the ground, waiting for the response and questioning if the tinny whispers he could hear were his imagination. He should find Aizawa. Aizawa would want to hear this. With class starting in less than a few minutes, it was easy to guess where his husband would be, or would be heading at least.

"That's ok. They're only really letting press and students into the school." AG made a good point with that. Yamada wasn't even sure they would let staff out of school grounds, ridiculous as that was. And on top of that, they hadn't even allowed press to pass this morning, which meant a day off for the two scheduled for press duty today.

"Just students," he corrected, in case AG wasn't aware of the development. If the plan had been to get through by pretending to be press, then that option was no longer viable.

"Good to know. I made a new friend," AG said, voice taking on an air of excitement, "and they say we can get in another way. Maybe we'll talk to the officers and explain or something, don't worry about it, Kaori, me, our new pal, we'll sort it out."

"Ok, well how are you all? Who's this friend you've made?" he asked, hoping against hope that AG would be willing to keep the call going. The risks of staying on couldn't be that high. One more corner and he'd arrive at 2-A's classroom.

"We're good, Pa, really." Another few whispers made their way through the line, and Hizashi wished his hearing aids could pick out the words better. "Though, Kaori managed to get a little scratched up."
